Iraq and Iran Parallels: Presidents and Intelligence

(20 Jun 2025) Remember how the First Signpost began?

US intelligence was sure that Saddam had WMDs in Iraq. Then, when the US military invaded Iraq in 2003 and ousted Saddam Hussein, no WMDs were found.

Though all of Daniel 7:4 and Revelation 6:2 were fulfilled by the First Signpost, the WMD question fulfilled Scripture by what Scripture did not say. Revelation 6:2 says, “Its rider held a bow . . .” and there is no mention of arrows (missiles). The Bible doesn’t say he had them. It doesn’t say he didn’t have them. The Bible is silent, leaving a mystery.

And now the whole world learned that the reason for invading Iraq was a big lie.

Parallels with the Second Signpost

Attacking Iran and a possible Second Signpost is staring us in the face now.

This past week, DNI Tulsi Gabbard declared that US intelligence believes Iran hasn’t worked on a nuclear bomb since 2003.

However, this time, the President isn’t going along with what intelligence supposedly says, but is going against it. Trump is disregarding what Gabbard is saying.

Funny, isn’t it? That’s the way we humans frequently operate. We act when we should not. And we don’t act when we should.

Conclusion

The First Signpost occurred because the President paid attention to his intelligence agencies. And the intelligence was wrong.

And now prior to the Second Signpost, the President is not paying attention to his intelligence. A question we may have answered for us soon is, is Gabbard’s intelligence right or wrong this time?

History does not always repeat itself, but it rhymes all the time.
