So a Muslim communist has been elected mayor of New York City, having won a bare majority of the total vote at 50.4%.
That Zohran Mamdani won, seems incredible not only because a Muslim and a communist won, but it was in a city that saw the 9/11 attacks only 24 years ago.
News media outlets might tell you that Mamdani as mayor means economic disaster for NYC, what with free this and free that causing more debt and higher taxes. We already hear stories of the very wealthy, and the few conservatives still living there, fleeing for other states.
However, there is another story behind the usual stories of what might result, and that story is related to the Signpost interpretation of Bible end-time prophecy. Mamdani might be a Second Signpost sympathizer.
It turns out that not only did New Yorkers elect for themselves a Muslim, but they elected a man who is part of a very special sect of Islam. That sect is probably the one sect that is going to trigger the rest of the Signposts. That’s right, Mamdani is a Twelver Shia—just like the supreme leader and the IRGC of Iran.
Despite Mamdani belonging to the Khoja branch of Twelver Shia, which has some cultural differences from the Iranian branches of Twelver Shia, all Twelver Shias believe the Twelfth Iman will make himself known in the future. This Twelfth Iman is known as Muhammad Al-Mahdi, and is likely the Christian’s Antichrist (or, Beast).
When the Second Signpost happens with Iranian troops invading and occupying many Muslim nations, and the Mideast oil spigot is shut off, most of the world will be in fear and will lose their peace of mind.
But what might NYC Mayor Mamdani (who’s anagram is by the way, “I, Madman”) do? After all, there is a good chance he will have the same mind as that Persian Ram who will charge out. Maybe he might celebrate this. Maybe he might declare that this event is to lead to the Islamic ‘prophesied’ coming of the Twelfth Imam? Or maybe he won’t do anything related to the Second Signpost.
This is an interesting twist and footnote to the world’s end-time history.

Did you mean his anagram? That one’s gotten me tripped up a time or two. There was a poem called “Anagrammer” in Lit class that took me way too long to figure out was talking about someone who uses anagrmas, not someone who’s bad with grammar.
Mamdani/Madmani is just barely old enough to remember 9/11. His rhetoric so far has been to condemn anti-Semitism. He might try to drive a wedge between American Jews and Israel. Several Times of Israel and other columns have been lamenting the, in their view, widening rift between American Jews and Israel. Too many American Jews have had it easy living on this side of the Atlantic, next to the ‘tame’ version of Islam, to really empathize with Israelis. Some survivors of 10/7 have committed suicide since, as have some first responders. Prayers for them would be appreciated.
What caught my eye just recently was Trump meeting with Al-Sharaa. Any thoughts?
