As the First Signpost taught me personally back in 2003, and the Second Signpost may vary well teach us all today, the Signposts actually happening seems impossible.

How many times have our own human perspectives got in the way of God working in our lives, and we learn to just step aside, let go and let God work.

The same is true of God’s Word in prophecy.

The First Impossibility

So I arrived at a new theory of interpretation of Bible end-time prophecy in February 2003. This new Signpost theory made four predictions.

I went over the first prediction, the First Signpost, from all the material assembled:

So the first beast of Daniel 7 is the end-time ruler of the city of Babylon—that would be Iraq. That lion has its mind changed. The head is the government and the mind is the type of government. So the government is going to be changed from something brutal like Saddam, to something more civilized?

IMPOSSIBLE! That’s crazy!

That hasn’t happened in the entire 3,000-year history of Mesopotamia! It didn’t happen prior to Nebuchadnezzar, nor during the Persian Empire. (proof was the king could just make a law to kill a particular ethnicity as is recorded in Esther). Nor did it change during the Parthian or Sassanian Empires, nor did it change with the Umayyad Caliphate, nor by the Abbasid Caliphate nor the Ottoman Caliphate. The government was always brutal for every empire and caliphate, and now more so under Saddam!

This must be wrong!  I actually set the new theory aside, thinking I had it wrong.

Well, the impossible . . . happened. I only had to wait two weeks to witness it actually happening.

The Second Impossibility

So, the Second Signpost has been staring us down for 20 years, and 12 years since Daniel Revisited was first published.

The Signpost theory summary of the Second Signpost is as follows.

So the Ram and the Bear are one and the same, with the Ram being the end-time ruler of the Medes and Persians—that would be Iran. The Ram is to charge out and butt, thereby shocking the other beasts (countries). The Bear is to wander and destroy (per Prov. 28:15 and 2Kings 2:23-24) and gorge on as many other beasts (countries) as it can. And the second horseman is to allow slaying (butchering, ISIS-style) in the Mideast region. The Ram gets to do all it wants to do, per the Guardianship of the Jurisprudent, and no one will stop it from doing all this?

IMPOSSIBLE! That’s crazy!

Everyone knows America and Israel would defeat Iran before it gets 100 miles outside of its own border!  America is the world’s sole superpower, with probably more firepower and more wealth than any single nation that ever existed!  And shut off the oil? That would cause worldwide panic! This interpretation must be wrong. The USA would never allow these things to happen. Besides, the Rapture is next, right?

Well, the impossible . . .

Conclusion

As I learned in 2003 with my own eyes, and the lesson may very well repeat very soon, never say something is impossible if God has put in His Word, and we are reading it right. Remember 2 Kings 6:24–7:20 and King Joram of Israel who doubted His Word given through Elisha, and what he experienced the next day.

What we humans think is impossible on one day, can happen on the very next day.

Just as God worked to end the siege of Samaria, so too, God orchestrated the events leading to the invasion of Iraq. And God can orchestrate again, allowing Iran to run out, and for any army that dares stop it to be defeated.
