Excellent Analysis of Regime’s Options, and Daniel 8:3 Fulfilled

(4 March 2026) A commentary by a senior editor at Iran International has been published, and is an excellent summary of the regime’s options at this point.

Daniel 8:3 Fulfilled!

I will discuss the highlights, but one particular fact seems to confirm without question the complete fulfillment of Daniel 8:3b:

“One of the horns was longer than the other but grew up later.”

The commentary begins with the prophetically fulfilling lines,

“A Supreme Leader has been killed. A son has been chosen. And the Revolutionary Guards are driving the process.”

Horns in prophecy generally represent power, and the kings of the Medes and Persians are the Ram and its two power bases, the two horns. In Daniel Revisited chapter 10, and in many articles on this website, I have made the case for years that the second horn (IRGC) of the Persian Ram has been growing up from a stub as the supreme leader bodyguard, to have taken over the military, intelligence, banking, politics and half the economy. I believe the second horn has already become longer than the first horn (supreme leader)

But now we have definite confirmation. Just as the supreme leader, in the beginning, set up the IRGC, gave promotions to its officers, and provided guidance, now in a turnaround, the IRGC has forced and guided the office of the supreme leader directly, by pressuring the Assembly of Experts to elect the next supreme leader.

This is amazing, and so as the author of the Signpost theory, I declare Daniel 8:3 fulfilled!

I always wondered how soon after we would know the second horn was longer, that Daniel 8:4 would come into play, i.e., the charging of the Ram. Well, if the Second Signpost begins sometime in March 2026, the answer is not long at all!

It is also possible that a Daniel 8:3 confirmed fulfillment increases the chance that Daniel 8:4 is truly not far behind it.

Why the IRGC Pushed for the Election

The commentary goes on to explain why the IRGC pushed for the election. And its for the same reason that I have explained in DR and in this website, why there are two horns on the Ram at all.

The ancient foreshadow of Cyrus conquering was only one power and one king, Cyrus. (The “Medo-Persian” empire is a made-up construct by theologians to explain the ancient supposed fulfillment of Daniel 8. There was no such thing. There was the Median Empire and then the Persian Empire. Cyrus removed Astyages (as-teh-‘ya-jis) as king. Look it up.)

But in the proper fulfillment in the end time (Dan 8:17, 19), there are two powers. It turns out, unlike Cyrus, the supreme leader needs the second horn to stay in power since many Iranians hate the supreme leader. And the second horn needs the first horn for legitimacy. You see, the IRGC doesn’t want just a naked military dictatorship, no, they are cultists within the Twelver Shia sect and the supreme leader is their pastor or pope. So without an office of the supreme leader, there would be no IRGC.

Supreme Leader Khamenei address Basij leadership during Basij Week 2014. The Basij is the volunteer paramilitary associated with the IRGC, who also viewed Khamenei as their “pope.”

The Two Alternatives for the Regime

The commentary goes on to explain in detail and quite logically the fork in the road as it were, that is, the two paths that lie before the supreme leader and IRGC.

The first is to keep fighting and remain defiant. That would include staying hidden, staying much more covert, and being very careful not to assemble in too large of numbers until the coast is clear.

The second path is to accept major concessions, giving up its goals of regional domination and accepting Israel’s right to exist.

The commentary explains both paths in more detail.

What This Means for the Second Signpost

The first path could lead directly to the Second Signpost. The IRGC would continue to fight by activating terror cells in the West to attack infrastructure, and attacking key oil facilities, in order to cause economic damage to the USA and the West. Then, if the US runs out of ammo, or there is another development causing US forces to withdraw (e.g. WW3, congress votes to recall, etc.) then the IRGC/Basij could run out later.

The second path would likely mean the Second Signpost is not next and hence the Signpost theory is thrown in to doubt, is wrong, or the Second Signpost will be delayed decades into the future, and the return of Christ is further away than we thought.

This path depends on whether the regime stays in power (2S is delayed) or is removed from power (2S is wrong)

Summary

Either way, as the commentary ends,

“For the first time in forty years, time is the one thing Tehran cannot buy.”

The Persian Ram is out of time. We will see very soon which path it chooses.

Keep watch, and God bless.

  1. Mark, Good, objective analysis on your part. Sure seems like this really could be it. But Dan 8:4 makes some pretty strong assertions about the power of the Ram that at least do not totally appear to be appearing at the moment. It is interesting to see a ground force in opposition to Iran appear to be developing from the Kurds, which of course are connected geographically to the Javan Goat Turks. Also, thank you for not going down the Trump Derangement Syndrome path. Stu
