(7 March 2026) As events play out, we get more clarification into end-time Bible prophecy.
Of course, if the prophecy interpretation is wrong, no amount of events will provide clarification.
However, we get more clarity with the Four Signposts. The situation with the Strait of Hormuz gives us this greater clarity.
Fine Adjustment Needed in the Second Signpost
Regarding the Second Signpost, Daniel 8 says the Ram runs out after the second horn grows longer than the first horn. But we don’t know how much time there is between the two events (second horn and running out). Daniel 7 simply says the Bear gets up to eat when called to dinner by the three ribs.
Revelation 6:4 gives us two more distinct events. It says (NIV 1984),
“Then another horse came out, a fiery red one. Its rider was given power to take peace from the earth and to make men slay each other. To him was given a large sword.”
The two events are peace (Greek iraynay) taken from the whole earth, and mass butchery between men in the Islamic Realm (the quarter of the earth). The peace of mind lost can be none other than cutting off 25 percent of the world’s oil supply. (And if anyone can think of another source for loss of global iraynay, I’m all ears.) Now, are the oil cutoff and the killing at the same time? (For a long time I thought they might be. The Bear gets up to eat—that involves the butchery. The Ram charges and butts on the ground—that also involves butchery.) Or do these events follow one another in Revelation 6:4?
The text mentions iraynay first. So, is the oil cutoff a time before the invasion and the killing?
It might be. And from what is happening right now, it looks like it is.
The US and Israel rule the skies over Iran. For the time being, there is no ground invasion by Iran of the Middle East, and most of the 150,000 IRGC and 1-2 million Basij are unaccounted for, staying hidden.
However, the Strait of Hormuz is already closed. Unless something changes to restore traffic, the countdown in days to the irreparable damage to the world economy and loss of our petrodollar, due to the cutoff of oil, has already started.
So in summary here, the oil is already cut off, and as it turns out iraynay is in play in just 20 more days. But the invasion is on hold for days or weeks or maybe longer.
Monitoring the Oil Cut Off
What follows is the current status of the cut off, and how to watch it.
The oil cutoff started March 2. This X video shows marine traffic on marinetraffic.com (scroll to bottom and double-click on lower left video), for 60 hours straight, from late February 27, to midday March 2. What’s very noticeable is how on February 28 plenty of red triangles (oil transports) are flowing back and forth, carrying the lifeblood of the world economy. By March 2 there is no activity.
Today, March 7, the marinetraffic.com map of the Strait of Hormuz shows that traffic is still stopped. The map is maintained 24/7 as a current live snapshot of marine traffic. Clicking on the small icons tells you what each ship is.
According to one expert, a continuous cutoff of 25 days is all that is needed to wreck the world economy, and kill the petrodollar. Inventories fill up and cannot be shipped out. Production ceases. Bore holes close and must be re-drilled. Sixteen million barrels per day are not flowing to the world.
The final day is March 27. That makes 5 days at this point, with 20 days remaining.
Some might think America is immune to this, but we are not. America produces enough oil for itself, but it must ship most of it overseas. Our refineries handle the sweet crude with low sulfur. That oil here is long gone. We now export our oil and import the sweet stuff from Saudi Arabia and other countries.
And the entire market is global. The oil we export, and the oil we import, will be bid on by Japan, China, and other nations, driving up the price.
Oil prices can be watched at this site. The oil price will likely go up something like 8x over the pre-war price. This equates to the neighborhood of $500 per barrel. Yes, this would tank the global economy.
Conclusion
At this point, this all boils down to Iran cutting off the oil as of now, but we don’t know how long God will allow them to do this.
God is allowing us time—many days and maybe weeks—between events to give us a little time to prepare mentally and physically. If the Holy Spirit is showing you to get food, and maybe gold or silver to shelter what wealth you have, you have some time.
If Iran manages to pull off the oil shock, we should expect the ground invasion by Iran at any time after that.
When the Ram runs out, though we expect it, the Middle East still won’t. It will still be a shock.
Keep watching.
God bless.

Mark:
If Iran had only a few nukes and hypersonic or scud missiles and destroyed ALL American aircraft carriers and uses the left overs to hit refineries and oil tankers THAT would instantly cause loss of peace……no three or four week wait time for the news to sink in.
The destruction of the U.S. Navy by an already destroyed Iranian military would cause more hearts to fail than simply closing the Straight of Hormuz.
Forgive this absurd metaphor, but if Trump listen to the Prophet Daniel he would have the greatest insider trading information both financially and militarily in history. I wish Pete Hegseth, who claims to be a believer (and I believe he is), would read Daniel and give his boss a “security update”.
Karl,
I agree with you completely. And we may still see Carrier(s) sinking. I’m taking the conservative route at this moment.
Speaking of markets, go long oil futures. I won’t but somebody might take advantage of that.
