Day 13 of the Oil Block

(12 March 2026) It is now 9 pm MST March 12, or, 4 AM GMT, March 13.

As of now, the Strait of Hormuz continues to be blocked. The idea of the Second Signpost starting March 2 is still in play.

I have dropped the “25 Days” thread in the title of these day counts, because too many variables make the time until the world economy meltdown unknown. Iran could strike all the Mideast oil facilities today and the world melts down tomorrow, or it could take two or three months at the current pace for the world to burn through stocks of oil.

Oilprice.com reports West Texas Intermediate (WTI) at about $96 per barrel, holding steady from yesterday. This is likely due to the announcement yesterday of 400 million barrels being released from global inventories. The world will burn through this in about 20 days.

Some News Items

U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said in an interview that there is no price point at which he will tell President Trump that he war has too high a cost.

Hey, Mr. Bessent, is $500 per barrel oil, the loss of the US petrodollar, and people not being able to put food on their tables, also not too high of a price?

Iran claimed responsibility for shooting down a KC-135 fueling tanker over western Iraq.

A Significant News Item

The new supreme leader Motjaba Khamenei said in his very first statement as one of the kings of the Medes and Persians, that the blockage of the Strait of Hormuz will continue in order to apply pressure to the enemy. In other words, assuming this is the Second Signpost, the second horseman will be allowed to continue to work to take peace of mind from the earth.

Khamenei also said in keeping with the future invasion by the Ram and Bear running out, that all US military bases in the region must be closed down.

Conclusion

Sadly, American Christians were never going to listen to the Second Signpost position. The imminence of the Rapture is too set in their minds. Not only was attacking Iran a mistake that stirred up a hornets nest, but if the regime survives and gains the upper hand it would lead directly to the Tribulation and the coming of the Islamic Antichrist.

Even today after the attack, American Christians do not want to listen. I’m willing to bet they will listen when they can no longer put food on the table.

  1. Of course, I also hold Daniel 11’s prophecies to be future to us as of 27 February 2026. Between the ram and goat wars of Daniel 8, Asia Minor will have a series of conflicts between her and the “King of the South” led by Egypt.

In other words, imho, there is a giant scruffle incoming we’ve no idea the nature of that will set Asia Minor / Javan against Egypt. All of this *before* the 70th shabua per Daniel 9… (I have learned to refuse to use the term “70th week of Daniel” any longer.).

As of 12 March 2026, it looks to me the picture I’ve held for years of the ram-war coming completely out of the blue and being led in part by either Khamenei, but happening in a “clean” and “clear” sort of way is probably not going to happen. There is a bunch of prelude to get through first, and on that, we’ve barely scratched the surface, I fear.

Iran stealing the Black Stone from Mecca (as far-fetched as that is) is still in-play. A Mahdi-claimant arising as the fourth “king” per Daniel 11:2 is still in the cards, but I also look to Mark’s idea of the IRGC being the fourth king.

As far as I can tell as of 2231 CDT on 12 March 2026, the fate of Mujatabani (or whatever his name is) is unknown save everyone seems to agree he is grieviously wounded.

The four kings of Daniel 11:2 being consecutive may now be disproven, and the idea of the Dan. 11:2 quartet of Persian kings may well not have begun yet. Our nice and easy Khomenei-AliKhamenei setup as among the first three kings is now in jeopardy, imho.

I will say this until I am blue in the face: I cannot put into words what it is to actually witness prophetic history and know what I am seeing. No-one in 2003 save a few souls like Mark knew when Saddam was being pulled from the earth by the U. S. Army, prophecy was being fulfilled on international television.

  2. So I heard this stat today Mark, that the Hezbollah, Gaza, and the Houtis were 90% funded by Iran. North, West, and South of Iran. 2nd Signpost fulfillment already….I believe we missed it.

  3. Jeff,
I do believe Daniel 11:36-45 is purely future/endtime, that Daniel 11:31-35 will be fulfilled exactly twice (Antiochus/Antichrist), and that Daniel 11:2-30 is all historical. I believe those verses are historical because of the writings of the Greek historian Polybius who chronicled those years in detail.

  4. Gary,
You’ll see – no we didn’t miss it. Any conquering by the Ram/Bear is to the point of getting to do all it wants and no one can resist. It really is as simple as that, as impossible as it sounds. Its either that, or the whole Signpost theory is just a guess.
And we just witnessed an impossible/unimaginable event in which Iran is actually starting to affect the oil markets. The second horseman is acting.
    Just hold on.

  5. Asian countries are way more dependent on Persian Gulf oil than Europe and the USA do, so they feel the crisis already now in a much more serious way and scramble to prepare for worse:

    – in Pakistan all schools and universities are closed to save fuel
    – The Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam have revived Covid-era work-from-home directives to ease consumer demand for gasoline
    – India has imposed a 20 percent cut in LNG supply to the country’s industrial sector
    – South Korea has capped fuel prices aimed at preventing them from spiralling out of control
    – Government offices in the Philippines have moved to a four-day work week
    – Myanmar’s government has imposed alternating driving days
    – China raised fuel prices a lot, forcing people to save energy

They have done all of this in the last few days.
I wonder, how long before Europe and the USA impose such measures too?

The situation in Asia is so dire that some of them are negotiating with Iran to leave their tankers through. How long before USA’s allies in Asia turn against the USA/Israel coalition out of sheer necessity?
How long before Europe does so too?

  6. Mark, Just consider the events that led to 10-07. Currently, Iran’s military might is not what it was two years ago and resources to continue this war is plummeting. In their collapse, the strategy is now by any means to ruin ALL the oil industry in the Middle East before they collapse completely. It will take several months before this ends and believe it will end with either an air strike out of Turkey or a major missile attack from there. I read yesterday that forces in Turkey have already shot down air attacks coming into its airspace. Turkey does have access of nuclear weapons. I am gathering thar they will strike Iran from there independently from any US decision to do so.

  7. Mark,

It is difficult to get accurate info from either side. For instance I scan the Simplicius guy on substack, but he has a really strong case of TDS so some of his info and takes are clearly off (and since he’s obviously not even a Christian he won’t even have a proper worldview to start from anyway), but it’s worth a read anyway I think for the pro-Iranian point of view. But I think you need to take both sides announcements with a grain of salt, and rely on people like you that have much more time to dig in.

But here’s a predestination / free will thought, if God has willed to happen all the end time events that He has chosen to reveal to us through His prophets, was it really a “mistake” to bomb bomb bomb Iran?

  8. Adamant,
Thanks for those headlines. If peace of mind doesn’t seem to be taken away from America just yet, it looks like its growing in other places.
And yes, the Asian nations are most dependent on Mideast oil (Japan gets 90% of its oil from there). European nations get perhaps half of there oil from there so it would still be a problem for them at some point. We import Saudi oil to get that sweet crude for our refineries.
Regarding Asian allies, I believe at some point before Christ returns they will all become Chinese possessions.

  9. Conservative Treehouse just put up an excellent post countering the oil doomsayers. Short story: President Trump has been planning countermeasures for the Strait to be interfered with at least since before he met with President Putin in Alaska last year.

  10. Doesn’t the bear already have three ribs in its mouth when it’s told to eat much flesh? Could these ribs be the areas the bear has already eaten- Gaza(Hamas), Lebanon(Hezbolla), and Yemen(Houthis)?

  11. John,
I had thought the ribs simply represented the countries the Bear would et, in the three directions. Keep in mind that the Bear and Ram have three things in common – higher on one side, wandering thru many countries, and having some relation to the number three.
However, it occurred to me recently that he ribs might represent the countries the Bear is to invade that are already starving, i.e. the beginning of the conditions of the third horseman.

  12. Mark: This concerns Daniel 7 not Daniel 8. I think your readers will like. A song was sung by a Christian group called Dogwood. It is Daniel 7 set to music. The song is The News. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pSM05n7G4tI&list=RDpSM05n7G4tI&start_radio=1

  13. Mark: Have we missed something else that is……..Hidden In Plain Sight? Daniel 8 gives the specific interpretation of the Ram with two horns. The Ram represents The Kings of Media and Persian. Instead of both horn representing a power struggle with Persia only is it possible, since the IRGC is effectively neutralized now, that the second horn to grow longer is the king of Media (who ever he is now)? The implication is a curve ball that strikes us all out but still maintains the Sign Post Theory. Media, if it is the Kurds, it liberates (Elam) Iran and gives Trump the excuse he needs to pull out of the Middle East. That horn invades east, NORTH, and south. Since Turkey hates the Kurds that would explain why they would attack their former oppressors. It would explain Turkey’s (Javan) vicious counter attack. I don’t know if the Kurds would inherit what’s left over from Iran’s military. I assume that since many IRGC members are walking off the job now they’d give them the keys to the kingdom as it were. I don’t know the relationship between the Kurds and any other country over there: Jordan, Saudi Arabia. I need someone to test my theory.

  14. Karl,
There are two possible holes I can see in your proposal. Remember, the Signpost theory is that the office of the supreme leader is the first horn, and IRGC is the second. These are the two powers. The supreme leader and the IRGC top commanders are the kings.
Now, first, as I wrote in this post, and what came out today, the IRGC is far from neutralized. In fact the second horn of the IRGC has grown longer, officially. In addition, someone is lobbing missiles into the Strait setting tankers on fire. It can only be the IRGC.
Second, in a way, the supreme leader is the king of the Medes (today Medes and Kurds) because the supreme leader so happens to come from a Mede city.
Third, you just changed “west” to “east”, which Daniel 8 does not mention. Also, the Kurds’ movements are likely just noise. The seven nations are defined in Daniel 7, Rev. 12, Rev. 17, and the Kurds are not one of those seven nations, instead they are distributed among four of the seven nations as a subgroup.
Fourth, the king of Yavan’s vicious attack will stand simply as being a religious personal attack of revenge.
Your theory is not Signpost theory – its something else. My position is to let things play out and we will see.
