(20 March 2026) It is now 9 pm MST March 20, or, 4 AM GMT, March 21.
As of now, the Strait of Hormuz continues to be blocked. It has been blocked for 20 days. About 320 to 400 million barrels of oil have been removed from global oil supplies by Iran’s closing of the Strait of Hormuz.
The idea of the Second Signpost having started March 2 is still in play. And if the Second Signpost is in play, than we are witnessing the second horseman taking peace of mind from the earth, and it is escalating.
The Horsemen are The Heralds
According to the Signpost theory of Bible interpretation, each of the four horsemen is the herald, or the theme setter, for each Signpost carried out by the four beasts of Daniel 7.
The Second Horseman’s First Action
Regarding the Second Signpost, the second horseman’s first activity is to remove peace of mind (Greek: #1515, eirene, εἰρήνη) from the earth:
“Then another horse came out, a fiery red one. Its rider was given power to take peace from the earth and to make men slay each other. To him was given a large sword.” (Rev. 6:4, NIV 1984)
Prior to the Bear wandering and gorging, and the Ram charging out within the Middle East, peace of mind is to be taken away from the whole earth.
I have asserted since discovering the Signpost theory that the only mechanism that could cause this, since Iran is so conveniently located to the source of one-quarter of the lifeblood of the modern world, that it would be the cutoff of crude oil and even the natural gas from the region that would take peace from the world.
And the bottom-line for loss of peace of mind is when people cannot put food on their table and feed their families.
Eirene (εἰρήνη) Being Taken From India
Each nation on earth will undoubtedly experience more or less loss of peace of mind.
Right now, while Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan are seeing gas prices climb, and there is some anxiety due to oil being released from storage to stabilize prices, it seems to be India that is starting to panic.
This news item from oilprice tells us that India lost 54 percent (some math here: 90 percent cut of its 60 percent which is imported) of its supply of natural gas due to the Hormuz closure, and now due to attacks on the gas fields next to Qatar. While those in the country still burn wood or cow dung to cook their food, the cities were moved to natural gas, from wood. And so restaurants are closing or curtailing certain menu items. Homes have to ration.
It is ironic how India, wanting to modernize, ends up getting more hurt by the Second Signpost.
This news piece from the India Times gives us a little more information.
Waiting times for a canister of propane or butane has gone from 25 days to 45 days. Restaurants can only use 20 percent of the gas they normally use.
In other words, while food is still available, cooking it might be a major problem.
Other news items say the dead are not being cremated in India.
This rather long, but good, news item from the Times of India gives 30 or so updates giving details as to the panic and belt-tightening Indians are experiencing. Can you imagine if many restaurants close down, not only do people need to find alternate sources of food, but the workers are unemployed? Millions of people might be panicking now.
And of course while this is all going on, there is much less fertilizer going into the ground to produce crops, raising the specter of famine.
In addition, this news item from Australia summarizes degradation across other Asian nations.
Conclusion
Here in the United States we are experiencing higher gas prices, and that’s about it. Russia is getting richer.
However, European nations are beginning to have problems, but it is the Asian nations in the worst shape with India seemingly leading the way.
We have never seen a global situation like this except perhaps during WW2, where millions are beginning to experience difficulty getting food.
If this is indeed the Second Signpost you might want to think about physically preparing: garden supplies, food storage, water storage, and whatever else the Lord might lead you to. Remember though your supplies are not your god. Christ is our God. We are to share as it says in Matthew 25.
Keep watch.
Keep surrendered to Christ. He is the only way you will get through this.
