The Petrodollar, BRICS 11, and the Second Signpost

Ten years ago when Daniel Revisited was getting ready to be published and this website began, there were no doubts as to the status of the US Dollar as the reserve currency of the world.

The US Petrodollar—set up in 1974 as the ticket to keep US dollars in demand internationally and therefore American’s buying power relatively stable—was still solid ten years ago.

Decline of the Petrodollar

Since that time, there has been a growing movement by many nations to break the monopoly of the US dollar in international trade. China is the prime mover in this. The Chinese Communist Part (CCP) wants to make China the dominant military and economic power on earth.

Nation by nation is chipping away at the hegemony of the US dollar as trade agreements are put in place for nations to trade in a currency other than the dollar. The BRICS nations are at the center of this effort.

One rather large dent in the monopoly of the dollar is Saudi Arabia selling its oil to China in Chinese Yuan.

BRICS 11

Along those lines, it was just announced that six additional nations are joining BRICS at the start of 2024. They are Argentina, Egypt, Ethiopia, and the oil producers the UAE, Iran, and Saudi Arabia (see map).

The BRICS nations increase in number from 5 to 11.

This article goes into a little more of the geopolitical impacts of the soon-to-be BRICS 11.

What does all this mean for the Signposts?

The Second Signpost

The Second Signpost is still coming. The Second Signpost will still cause an oil shock across much of the world. (Daniel 8:4 says the Persian Ram will get to do all it wants to do, which is to cause as much chaos as possible. It will do this in the Middle East by occupying many nations. It will do this in the world by cutting off the oil. Peace of mind will also be taken from the earth per Rev. 6:4.)

With the oil cut off, the Second Signpost will still likely be the final act for the US Petrodollar, ending it. The difference now with BRICS 11 and the growing influence of China, is instead of the Second Signpost possibly ending a strong Petrodollar, it will more easily end a weakened Petrodollar. The Petrodollar was used by the entire world decades ago. Now, only the Western allies of the United States are still using dollars to conduct trade and buy oil. That is, only half the world, not all the world. Half of the world population—contained in the BRICS 11—will not be.

Conclusion

Either way, how the Petrodollar ends does not matter, only that it does. Either way, it spells the end of Americans’ standard of living as they find the dollar not only goes into high inflation, but into hyperinflation.

Get yourself ready. Test yourselves. Pull any idols down in your hearts higher than Christ. Obey Christ if called to be a Joseph.

Keep watch, both over yourself and of world events.

  1. $$$ down may result in Gold ^^^. Time to ditch Fiat currency and get into metal.
Not that money is the be all… but why risk financial ruin.

  2. Jerome Powell seriously needs to get his head on straight and get US back on the gold standard.

  3. Hi Puppet,
Agreed. If one has the extra wealth, channeling to gold is a good idea. If you search for “gold” on this site you’ll find posts like this and this.
But we must not allow it to be an idol. Gold is not god, but God can use your gold.

  4. So here is the thing though, Mark, I say this with regard with seeking the welfare of the city, something that Jews were to do WHILE in Babylon. So my that thought is can a Christian reside in Babylon like Daniel but not drink the seducing cup of her luxuries? The thing I am looking at when it comes to the end times is that Babylon will become a more crystalized global network where you tolerance is king and reverence towards God’s word is scoffed at. I just hate seeing other brethren going under financially. I seriously wish we get to a communitarian mindset, help each other out in our churches and expel this individualistic oriented prosperity Gospel which Babylon thrives on.

[MD – We live in the world, but we are not to partake with the world, that said, we must still reach out to those in the world/Babylon with the Gospel and the love of Christ. Those living in Babylon are all around us but we are not to join them.]
“The thing I am looking at when it comes to the end times is that Babylon will become a more crystalized global network where you tolerance is king and reverence towards God’s word is scoffed at.”
[All this type of teaching is brainwashing that we have all been given over the decades and centuries. Babylon was no more in existence or less in existence the whole time from Noah to now. The Bible is what “crystallizes” for us what and who Babylon the Great (Big Babel) is as well as the idolatry in our own hearts we must watch out for.]
“I just hate seeing other brethren going under financially. I seriously wish we get to a communitarian mindset, help each other out in our churches and expel this individualistic oriented prosperity Gospel which Babylon thrives on.”
[Agreed. Sort of like the early Acts church in Jerusalem. Even individual churches today can be led by people who are still a part of Babylon, worshiping themselves and their own agenda. Jesus told us the punishment and destiny of the goats who did not help their fellow brothers and sisters. As far as a church community mindset, I believe its already going on in China and the Muslim realm, and it will emerge here as America descends into chaos and poverty.]
