(24 March 2026) It is now 10 pm MST March 24, or, 5 AM GMT, March 25.
As of now, the Strait of Hormuz continues to be blocked. It has been blocked for 24 days. About 384 to 480 million barrels of oil have been removed from global oil supplies by Iran’s closing of the Strait of Hormuz.
The idea of the Second Signpost having started March 2 is still in play. Until the regime is completely disbanded, or until the Ram runs out, this is not over.
We have seen many news stories in the last few days, reporting of hard times hitting various countries.
This analysis from oilprice.com makes the case that the Strait of Hormuz could be blocked for a long time.
The article begins with a quote from Richard Allen Williams, a retired US Army colonel and former NATO Defense Investment Division official:
“I can think of no way to reopen and keep open Hormuz militarily and easily.”
The reason is four-fold.
First are the drones and missiles that the IRGC could launch at any time, taking out a ship.
Second are the mines. They are easy to place and much harder to remove.
Third is electronic jamming. Ship’s locators show their ships on land, and with such a narrow channel to travel, collision will likely increase.
And fourth is insurance. No insurance company will insure a ship to go through the Strait at this time.
Conclusion
Unless the IRGC is truly neutralized (and how would you know that?), it seems most ships cannot traverse the Strait for a long time. And whether or not Iran successfully takes out more oil infrastructure in the Arab nations doesn’t matter—the economic picture of the world and the US Petrodollar will both continue to degrade at an accelerated rate.
Keep watch.
After thought—Psalm 91 came to mind this afternoon. I leave the NIV 1984 version here with you. It seems appropriate for about now.
1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
3 Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence.
4 He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
5 You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, 6nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.
8 You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked.
9 If you make the Most High your dwelling—even the Lord, who is my refuge—10 then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; 12 they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
14 “Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
15 He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation.”
