(12 April 2026) It is now day 43 of the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and the cutting off of oil to most of the world.
As long as the closure continues, and the oil cutoff becomes more long-term, the Second Signpost started March 2nd, officially.
Today, after 42 days since March 2nd, this Fox News story (and this story) reports that US President Trump spoke against the Second Signpost. He did so unknowingly.
Trump’s Declaration
Trump stated on his Truth Social account that the US Navy will blockade all ships trying to enter or leave the Strait that are friendly to Iran, or that Iran allows to go through with the passage fee.
About the closure that Iran has created, Trump added,
“At some point, we will reach an ‘ALL BEING ALLOWED TO GO IN, ALL BEING ALLOWED TO GO OUT’ basis, but Iran has not allowed that to happen by merely saying, ‘There may be a mine out there somewhere,’ that nobody knows about but them. THIS IS WORLD EXTORTION, and Leaders of Countries, especially the United States of America, will never be extorted.”
Trump Taking on the Second Signpost
Did you catch that? Let me explain.
The Second Signpost began with the release of the horseman of Revelation 6 that is the herald of the Second Signpost. This would be the second horseman.
His first job, being allowed by the sovereign God to do so, is to take peace of mind from the earth. This peace of mind is taken from the earth by cutting off the crude oil and natural gas from the world economy, by making that oil and gas unavailable to the world.
Iran is currently doing so by closing the Strait of Hormuz, as it has been doing now for 43 days.
Trump declared that Iran is extorting the world. Yes, Iran is extorting the world under the coverage and permission of the second horseman if this is the Second Signpost.
Speaking Against the Second Signpost?
Trump then said leaders of countries, and the United States, will never be extorted.
Well, right off the bat we can see we are already being extorted. Fuel prices rose 40 percent. Fertilizer available for this year’s crop in the US has just had one-fifth of it cut off, paring back our harvest this autumn.
The Future
Will the world continue to be extorted? Trump said “no.” The Second Signpost says “yes” if indeed this situation continues to be the real Second Signpost.
Therefore, if the Second Signpost is going on right now, then Trump is acting belligerently against God and what He is doing in the end times.
Conclusion
If this is the Second Signpost, this news story carries a lot of spiritual weight.
A US president spoke against what God has planned. Of course we all individually speak against God’s plans because we are human and He is God. The entire western church may be speaking against what God has planned. No one is counting on the Second Signpost. Instead, they are counting on the Rapture.
If this is the real Second Signpost, is Trump’s belligerent statement a sign of more bad things to come? In other words, God may have judgment coming on the US (and the world), and where God may be saying “yes,” the president is saying “no.”
The next few weeks and months have a good chance of becoming extremely . . . um . . . interesting.

THE FOUR SIGNPOSTS 
Many of the things Trump says are against God. God deals with us all as individuals as well as corporately. I wouldn’t think this particular speech would be indicative of national judgment unless there was a clear reference to scripture (like the “build back better” speeches of multiple US presidents that directly reference Isaiah 9:10 without realizing the context). Is there a scripture this remark quotes with much accuracy? The closest I can think of is Rev 18:7 (“…‘I sit as a queen, I am no widow, and mourning I shall never see.’”), but that doesn’t seem like much of a match.
Just a stupid thought maybe between the 2ed and 3rd signpost revelation 14:6-13 will happen.
Mark – Your book Daniel Revisited came up in our last Wed. Night men’s Bible study, and I went out and purchased it and basically read it all in 2 days. Great work! I realize this took some heavy research to compile. I’ve also read Joel Richardson’s book “Mideast Beast”, so I understood your references about the AntiChrist being Arab Muslim.
I wanted to offer you something to consider when it comes to potentially reconciling the statue of Daniel 2 with the four beasts of Daniel 7. I don’t know if I’ve ever heard anyone say this – it just occurred to me one day.
I generally agree with your assessment – the statue of Dan 2 is not exactly the same as the four beasts of Dan 7 – but where I see a possibility of partial reconciliation or ‘equivalency’ are specifically the toes of the statue.
In Dan 2:34, we see the stone not cut by human hands directly smash the statue in its toes and feet, and that stone is the kingdom of Christ. That seems to infer that the toes and feet exist around the same time as Christ’s 2nd coming, which again equates to the 4th beast.
I propose a bit of a distinction between the iron legs and the iron/clay feet and toes. They may be the ‘same kingdom’, but at different times in history. Let’s call the feet “Empire 4.5”. Even in the text, Daniel seems to talk about them almost as if they’re similar, but different, by describing the legs as just iron, then iron and clay details for the feet and toes.
The 2 iron legs are the old Roman empire. As you point out in your book, around the time of the temple destruction in AD 70, it was a mixture of Roman soldiers and Arab (and other) conscripts. Even in that time, the ‘Roman Empire’ had a mixture of people (mainly referring Italians and Arabs) but this isn’t really reflected in the legs of iron.
In Empire 4.5 (feet), Daniel goes to specifically call out the lack of mixture. – they will intermarry but not ‘stick together’, be partly strong and partly weak, etc.
Given the current state of almost uncontrolled European immigration by middle easterners and the cultural inroads that Islam has made into Europe, could it be, that Empire 4.5 is basically the modern ‘Roman Empire’ — aka 4th beast?
Then, the 10 toes equate to the 10 horns of beast 4 (which could then be referring to European/Arab nations mixtures or Sunni/Shia nation mixtures or maybe both) – with the exception that in beast 4, the little horn is mentioned and the antichrist is detailed a bit more.

Not a stupid thought. We are all grappling for the truth. My own opinion, and I wrote about this in Hidden Babylon, is that passage occurs during the first half of the seven-year Tribulation.

I was generally in agreement up until you wrote, “The 2 iron legs are the old Roman empire.” You may be forgetting a couple things. First, from Daniel Revisited chapter 1, there is no way Daniel 2:40 with its pulverizing all the other three empires, can apply to Rome. So the iron legs cannot be Rome. Islam is the only empire that crushed the other three in the image.
Second, you mentioned a mix of Roman and Arab conscripts. Remember, the Roman soldiers as part of the Tenth Legion were only Roman in citizenship. They were Syrian in ethnicity, which is why Daniel 9:26 and the people of the ruler who will come were Syrians and the Antichrist will be Syrian – not just Arab.
Yes, I agree the toes in the image are the equivalent of the horns on the fourth beast. And yes, the feet/toes are the end-time version of the leg empire, descending from the leg empire.
One thing we must be on the watch about is wondering why we think certain things. I find for myself that if I have an idea but wonder where it came from, I find sometimes that it was something that was taught to me, is false, but it sticks in the brain. Its basically brainwashing.
I know someone who believes the antichrist is going to be a Syrian-Arab, but then says he will come out of the Assyrian Catholic church because, I believe, he can’t get rid of that notion about the iron legs being Rome. Just remember Daniel 2:40. No other empire can claim that role but Islam.
The reason Muslims are flooding into Europe is because God has in his plan the Syrian Islamic Antichrist conquering Europe, and it will be easy both because of the Second Signpost and no gasoline, and the millions of Muslims already there that will swear allegiance to their new Mahdi.
