Ceasefire Over, War Restarts, Musical Chairs on Again (Day 94)

(2 June 2026) It is now 10 pm MST June 2, or, 4 AM GMT, June 3. We have been watching world and Mideast events surrounding the closure of the Strait of Hormuz by the IRGC.

The Strait has been closed to normal traffic for 94 days. Oil inventories around the world are being drawn down. It is estimated the world has only until September 1 or so before refineries begin shutting down.

The idea of the Second Signpost having started March 2 (with the closure of the Strait of Hormuz) is still in play. And it will remain in play and then either be disproved when the regime is completely disbanded, or will be confirmed when the Ram runs out across the Middle East.

Ceasefire Done as the War Restarts

Yesterday’s post looked at the hints that the next round of the war would begin soon. We didn’t have long to wait.

Zerohedge reports that following a US attack on Iran’s Qeshm Island (in the “hook” of the Strait of Hormuz), the IRGC unleashed attacks on US assets on Kuwait and Bahrain. Whether that is it for now or expands into more attacks back and forth is yet to be seen.

The IRGC issued the statement below.

Statement from the IRGC, June 2 2026, regarding American attacks and IRGC responses.

Note the words used. US attacks, “Will be met with a seismic, crushing, and decisive response that exceeds established norms and boundaries.” Taking the IRGC statement seriously, what else could that be but the Second Signpost in which Arab oil infrastructure is destroyed? We have confirmation of this as the party to whom this is addressed, in part, is “all those who allow their territories or airspace to be used.”

This in turn would take the oil price much higher, and the power of the second horseman to take away the peace of mind of the earth would be fully displayed.

Musical Chairs Again

As long as Iran is attacking its Arab neighbors, one never knows when the IRGC will start demolishing the oil infrastructure. This is the attack threatened by Iran as exceeding “established norms and boundaries.”

We don’t know when the IRGC will actually do this.

Is it during the current attack? When will the IRGC think time is up? Will it happen tomorrow or the next day or the next week?

We believe it is coming, we just don’t know when.

In the meantime, while attacks go back-and-forth, continue to prepare. Don’t let your guard down. Don’t be the one without a chair when the music stops.

You don’t want to have a near empty tank of gas when gas doubles in price or becomes unavailable.

Keep watch.

Mark … thus far you have been spot on in your assessment of the situation in the Persian Gulf. My friends in Europe and S.E. Asia are reporting on how adversely the war is upsetting their lives and economy. I get up early every morning to turn on my computer to learn the latest. Thanks !!!

  2. Hi Gordon,
If you wouldn’t mind, if you learn anything from your friends about anything in particular that you believe to be significant, it would be good to pass it along. No need for details or names.
It could only help wake people up.

  3. @Gordon and others:
I agree with Mark. Share, especially if you hear something that is more or less new to you and not yet in every newspaper; or something that has reached a country where it was not before.

    @Mark:
As you know I am in Europe, and I asked some friends too, already weeks ago, but I did not think to tell their answers here. Good idea by you! So here they come:

    – A friend from New Zealand told me everybody had started carpooling there because of the high fuel prices, and in electric cars as much as possible, leaving fuel cars at home when possible.
Plus the NZ government has put up a special website that tracks everything about fuel prices and tankers on their way to NZ. This prevents untrue rumours and panic:
    https://www.fuelwatch.nz/

    – A friend from Spain told me that the situation there is much like in the rest of Europe: High prices of fuels affecting many things, but no real shortages yet.

    – A friend from South Africa told a few weeks after the war started that his three closest fuel stations were all empty. He had only just enough petrol left to reach a station much further away that still had fuel. Now it is better, because SA is getting fuel from Nigeria in stead of the Gulf.

    – A friend from South Korea told me soon after the war started that he had to cancel plans to come to Europe again this summer because the ticket prices had gone through the roof.

    – An American friend recently confirmed that what I read about heat, drought, fertiliser prizes and farmer distress in the USA is correct. He added that many US farmers are applying to their disaster/weather insurances. I did not know these existed.

  4. Adamant,
That NZ site is very informative. Too bad other countries aren’t doing the same.
So the NZ government is projecting ZERO diesel on July 5 (40-day supply on May 31), ZERO gasoline on August 2 (55-day supply on May 31), and 10-days jet fuel by September 10, unless conditions change. This is taking into account the ships on the map that are arriving.

  5. @Mark
You are right about the projected end dates of stocks, but these are based on the current fuel consumption rates. I read this in the articles on the top-right of the NZ page. When the stocks get lower, the prices will increase, and due to a new round of demand destruction, the downward slopes will then become less steep, and then roughly horizontal again as now, but on a much lower level.

I also read that the NZ government has reserved a few tanker loads to make “strategic reserves”. This will make fuel more scarce and more expensive again for the public, but then they can keep essential services running for a time if things get worse than now.
