(15 September 2026) After so many years of watching for the coming of the Second Signpost, it has arrived. The first attack taking out 5 percent of the world’s oil availability happened this past weekend.
So what is next?
We should see the following developments:
1) The Strait of Hormuz should continue to stay closed. A couple days ago a tanker hit a mine in the southern lane of the Strait next to Oman, caught fire, and is still burning. The embarrassing part is that this occurred while US naval vessels were supposedly escorting the tanker though the Strait.
2) Further attacks on Arab oil facilities. We should expect to see the IRGC take out, one way or another most of the capability for the Middle East to export oil. This might include only keeping the Strait permanently closed, or taking out production, and/or taking out refineries.
3) Preemptive strikes on US and allied fighter aircraft. The world doesn’t know the Signposts. Therefore, the world doesn’t know that the IRGC, Basij, and allied militias are going to run out across the Middle East and conquer and occupy many Sunni nations. Therefore, to do this, they must preemptively strike any fighter aircraft belonging to the US or the Arab allies. To this end, the Houthis just unleashed a major attack on King Khalid Air Base in southern Saudi Arabia.
Ominously, the only fighter aircraft the US has left is on its aircraft carriers that are in the region. This would include the USS George Washington. Might the IRGC try to take it out? Maybe. Experts believe there is a whole other class of missiles that Iran has not even used yet. This might include hypersonic cruise missiles. But we will see.
4) Land invasion by Shia forces of Arab countries. The occupation of the many Muslim countries by Iran is the culmination of the Second Signpost.
Conclusion
Since it looks like we are now in the Second Signpost, look for events that we would expect to see as part of that signpost.
We don’t have much time now before “normal” life goes out the window.
Here in America its diesel at $7 to $9 per gallon, and Costco is now rationing motor oil, limiting customers to two quarts only.
Just as it is getting far worse in much of the world, it will get far worse in the US as well.
