(24 September 2026) The Second Signpost is upon us. This prophetic event called out in the Bible is of oil the lifeblood of the world, and the ideology of Shia Islam, all wrapped up in modern Iran.
Yet the Church is simply waiting for the Rapture or the Tribulation.
The Problem
Why did the Church not see this coming? Does this mean most prophecy teaching is wrong?
The Solution
The Bible gives us the answer in Daniel 12:4. The hard part is, you must honestly read it and then take time to consider the consequences.
Daniel 12:4 (NKJV) says,
“But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end.”
We need to examine three places in this passage.
The phrase “shut up” comes from the Hebrew word satham (sah-TAHM, Strong’s #5640). It is used 15 times in the Bible and means to stop up something like water in a well. It is to keep something from flowing.
The word “words” is dabar (dah-VAHR or dah-BAHR, Strong’s #1697). The plural here is dabarrim. It is used 200 times and most of the time is translated as the collection of words in context that it is used such as report, speech, message, etc.
In this case, “words” here would appropriately be “prophetic message” since the words themselves are not stopped up, but can be read. We could always read the words of Daniel. What couldn’t be read is what they all meant.
Finally, “the time of the end” refers to the time of the Resurrection, our resurrection, that is, the return of Christ. We know this from context. Daniel 12:1-2 says at the time of the Antichrist at the end of Daniel 11 that many will awake from the dust of the earth.
Therefore, Daniel 12:4 can be better translated, I believe, as:
“But you, Daniel, stop up the prophetic message, and seal the book until the time of the end when the Resurrection is to occur.”
The Consequences
Think about it.
If God said part of Scripture is sealed until the end time, then it is sealed. Period.
Yes, many smart and Spirit-led men parsed out the Gospel, and the nature of Christ, and justification, etc, but none of those passages are sealed. The Gospels and Epistles don’t have a stamp of “don’t open until the end time.”
Those same smart men centuries ago could only guess. What motivated them, I suppose, was they thought they were living in the end time. They can be excused, but the Church as a whole should have checked their answers over the centuries instead of canonizing them by elevating them as tradition equal to Scripture.
Sorry, human beings cannot guess correctly what God has sealed.
Today, most of out prophecy teaching is based on all this old thinking from centuries ago.
On the flip side, the really cool part is if this is all true, we are very close to the time of the Resurrection, our resurrection, the return of Christ.
The Birth of the Signpost Message
When I arrived at the Signpost framework two weeks prior to the First Signpost happening in 2003, I thought I had arrived at an impossible answer, an absurd answer. Two weeks later I realized it was neither impossible nor absurd. Well, it was if you consider George W. Bush leading the US into Iraq to take out Saddam and replace him with democracy was absurd. It probably was.
If the Signpost message could only make sense once the event actually occurred, then we can say, possibly, that Daniel became unsealed when the First Signpost began, i.e. when Saddam was taken out.
This would mean the end times arrived and Daniel was unsealed when the first beast began to be forced to stand in Daniel 7.
In other words, the first beast of Daniel 7 is truly the beginning of the end times.
God just allowed me the blessing to witness this. This is all His message and His orchestration.
What this means, too, is we all need to be careful not to rest on or assume a teaching is right just because we heard it earlier in our lives a hundred times.
And we certainly cannot make assumptions. Read prophecy for what it actually says.
