Martenson on Diesel in US: Shortages Coming Soon

(27 September 2026) After so many years of watching for the coming of the Second Signpost, it has arrived, as written about here, and in Daniel Revisited.

We have been watching the Iran War since February 28, and the “official” beginning of the Second Signpost on September 11.

Chris Martenson On Oil and Diesel

The ITM Trading YouTube channel has a video titled, The Biggest Energy Shock of Our Lifetime, in which financial expert and scientist Dr. Chris Martenson is interviewed.

I recommend watching the whole video as Martenson reveals how the oil market and oil industry works, and how it works in the US.

At time 16:10 to 17:52 he comes to the bottom line, and talks about how the US will see diesel shortages very soon. He says the oil prices was manipulated and should have been allowed to rise to a more natural level of $200 per barrel or so. This would have been painful, but resulted in adjustments to demand.

In that time span given above, at time 17:29, Martenson says,

“Now a shortage is not the same signal as a price hike. A shortage means nobody gets any or you have to suddenly engage in triage and then you remember during covid when we had people deciding that this small store is non-essential but Target was essential anyway you’re going to have bureaucrats deciding where the diesel goes and I think we all know see that yeah it’ll be a disaster guaranteed. It’ll be inefficient here. Let me be polite.”

Later in the video he says he is buying gold.

Conclusion

Fuel shortages hit Southeast Asian countries like Vietnam and the Philippines, at the start of the war. Fuel shortages are now hitting Europe.

In a short time—days, maybe weeks on the outside—the US will see fuel shortages, mainly diesel.

I thank God that he is allowing the taking away of the peace of mind of the earth to happen more slowly in western countries instead of all at once like it did in Asian countries, not to belittle their suffering.

Stock up now. Do not procrastinate. Don’t let opportunities to act now slip away.
