One of the Kings of Daniel 8 Speaks to Americans

(29 September 2026) After so many years of watching for the coming of the Second Signpost, it has arrived, as written about here, and in Daniel Revisited.

We have been watching the Iran War since February 28, and the “official” beginning of the Second Signpost on September 11.

The Kings of the Medes and Persians

If you remember, the Persian Ram of Daniel 8:4 in Daniel 8:20, “represents the kings of Media and Persia.” (NIV)

Many prophecy teachings speaking of Daniel 8 as being fulfilled in the past think of the two horns of the ram as being the two kings, one of the Medes and one of the Persians. But the text does not say that.

In addition, horns in prophecy typically represent strength, typically political and/or or military power, so a horn can be represented by one king or many kings.

In Signpost theory, one horn of the Persian Ram is the office of the supreme leader, and the other horn is the group of commanders of the IRGC and Basij. Those are the two real powers in Iran. This is detailed in Daniel Revisited, chapter 10.

In this post written almost ten years ago, I show the distinguishing visible marker for the kings among the commanders of the IRGC and Basij. The marker is the twin red badges on the uniform lapels.

A Message from One of the Kings

It is always interesting to me when a figure or person or country, speaks or acts, it may actually be something or someone referred to directly in Bible prophecy.

An example is when Erdogan would say something, that is the first horn of the goat speaking, according to Signpost theory.

So now Brigadier General Hossein Mohebbi of the IRGC was made the spokesman of the regime. He is one of the kings of the Medes and Persians, according to his red insignia. He is one of the kings not because he is spokesman, but because of his rank among commanders of the IRGC.

This news article and this one, report that Mohebbi presented a long letter to the American people trying to convince them to not vote Republican in the midterm election, in order to take away President Trump’s power.

What is most interesting to me about this isn’t the message itself, it’s the fact that one of the Persian Ram’s kings of the Medes and Persians would speak directly to the citizens of the nation that is trying to stop the Ram from running out, even though America doesn’t realize that’s what Iran is going to do.

This incident makes the kings of the Medes and Persians a bit more personal to America, like in all the action of Daniel 8 we might see a freeze of the action as the Ram turns to speak to the potential animal in Daniel 8:4 that would try to rescue from the Ram’s power (of Daniel 8:4).

Conclusion

One of the features of the Signpost theory is it labels and organizes the characters and events going on in this tumultuous time in the Middle East.

This incident also highlights the idea that Bible prophecy in Daniel indirectly refers to the United States a second time.

The first time is in Daniel 7:4 where it speaks of the lion forced to stand and its mind was changed. The United States military was that force.

The second time is in Daniel 8:4: “No animal could stand against him, and none could rescue from his power.” If Signpost theory is correct, the United States is one of the animals that could not stand against the Ram.

The months and years ahead will definitely be interesting. I’ve heard that interesting times is part of a Chinese curse.
