Davis Explains Why There Is No Good Move for the US in Iran War

(30 October 2026) After watching for the coming of the Second Signpost, it has arrived, as written about here, and in Daniel Revisited.

No Goals Achieved

It seems the US military hit a brick wall with Iran.

The goal to take away Iran’s ability to make a nuclear weapon required (1) ending the regime and (2) verifying that there was no processed uranium. Neither of these tasks has been completed.

In addition a secondary goal has been to re-open the Strait of Hormuz. That has not happened either. Yes, there is sporadic tanker traffic, but as reported on this site from various sources, Iran has also been attacking tankers, setting them on fire.

Old Empire versus New Power

What happened in the last seven months, unfortunately for the US, is something that happens often in history. An old power which was the hegemon in its heyday, loses battles to new powers with newer technologies.

The US’ fighters, and missile interceptors, all costing millions of dollars each, cannot compete with suicide drones costing only $50 thousand each.

This is likely the largest single factor as to why the US is not winning the war against Iran.

Dan Davis Lecture

In a recent video titled, Future Iran War Plan – It’s Insane, Dan Davis gives an excellent lecture as to the status of US tactics on Iran, and why doing anything that is planned has a high likelihood for failure. I recommend you watch all of it. It’s 30 minutes long but worth it. A decorated veteran officer, Davis has a knack for spelling out why it is not worth it for the US to pursue this war any longer.

Conclusion

If the Signpost framework is correct, and it seems like it is, the Second Signpost will begin as soon as the US military no longer poses a threat to stop what Iran wants to do.

This could occur any day now and more likely after the US midterm election.

Keep watch.
