Just as creation itself reveals our Creator, so events great and small in the Middle East reveal the coming Signposts as shown in Daniel 7 and 8. The Second, Third and Fourth Signposts are the precursors to the Tribulation itself as written about in my book Hidden In Plain Sight.
So now the new Iranian President Hassan Rouhani contributed by speaking what seems like a prophecy of the Second Signpost.
We do not know what the final catalyst will be that triggers the beginning of the Second Signpost, the invasion by Iran of the Middle East. Among the possibilities is a “hotspot” in the Middle East where there is increasing hostility and war between Sunnis and Shias. Syria is the hotspot at the present time.
It is the alliance between Iran, Iraq, Syria and the Hezbollah in Lebanon that will provide an excuse and an easy avenue to the west when Iran invades. The Persian ram – modern Iran – will run to the north, south and west.
“I watched the ram as he charged toward the west and the north and the south. No animal could stand against him, and none could rescue from his power. He did as he pleased and became great.” (Daniel 8:4 NIV, author emphasis)
Iran’s invasion of the Middle East would be, in part, the defense of the alliance with Syria. If it turns out ultimately that Iran uses Syria and its alliance with Assad to invade, then indeed, the words President Rouhani spoke yesterday are prophetic. In a meeting reported yesterday shortly after he was inaugurated as the new president, he said about Iran’s alliance with Assad, “The deep, strategic and historic relations between the people of Syria and Iran … will not be shaken by any force in the world.” Is this not what Daniel says of Iran? Doesn’t Daniel say of the ram when it charges out, “no animal could stand against him” and “he did as he pleased”?
I would dismiss this as mere coincidence if there wasn’t already a long list of other coincidences of events matching the coming of the Signposts.
