A news story not widely reported came from the Iran state media on Thanksgiving Day. Why it wasn’t widely reported in the West may have been due to the overshadowing killing of the top scientist, or it happening on an American holiday, or it not being taken seriously as the US Navy was seemingly up against a Mideast knockoff of McHale’s navy (I include the YouTube link for our younger readers).
On Thanksgiving Day, 1,000 speedboats run by the Basij arm of the IRGC displays its naval ability.
In light of the Second Signpost, though, the IRGC of Iran will achieve a great military success (per Daniel 8:4), invading and occupying much of the Middle East. At least, at first.
To that end of pulling off the Second Signpost, the IRGC adds the ability of its thousands of speedboats to harass much larger vessels, to its other abilities of taking out oil facilities, land bases, and large ships.

Regarding the IRGC’s speedboat navy, some can launch missiles, many of its boats can travel at 90 knots, and the IRGC has thousands of them. Let us be careful not to assume their speedboat navy can be easily defeated, even against the US Navy.

Every time I tell people about Daniel chapter 8 they look at me with this dumbfounded way as if I am crazy or one of the oddball christians that is off in left field. It doesn’t sway me though. I have told many people that the second signpost is the next event in biblical prophecy and it is something that will very clearly tell all christians that we are actually in the days right before the 70th week.

I was reading the article below the other day and another one on how oil production worlwide are storing excess oil offshore due to a gloabl oversupply of oil. As a result, pirating of the oil is increasing. Wondering if there is a connection here wirh Iran?

While specifically I see no connection to Iran, in general after the Second Signpost strikes, oil supplies will dwindle causing stored oil to be depleted and the price of oil to skyrocket.

Along those lines it was Israeli news sources that reported Khamenei’s “death.” I find Israeli news frequently has stories of wishful thinking. General Soleimani, for example, has died three or four times prior to his real death.

Here is a timeline that I hope you can open up to see what may be a strong possibility in the next decade. A prophetic generation is at the most 80 years and from the re-establishing of Israel as a nation in 1948 adding 80 years would bring us to 2028!

– June 8, 2025 Feast of Pentecost 120 days before Feast of Tabernacles. The number 120 represents “the end of mankind” in Biblical numerology (Gen. 6:3).
– September 22-24, 2025 Rosh Hashanah (Feast of Trumpets). Scholars believe this immediate precedes the Rapture of the Church (1 Corn.15:50-52) (1 Thess. 4:15-18).

Until recently I believed that the first signpost ended in 2011. All Iraq aspects were fulfilled by then, but an Iran aspect continued. “Then I lifted my eyes and looked, and behold, a ram which had two horns was standing in front of the canal. Now the two horns were long, but one was longer than the other, with the longer one coming up last” (Daniel 8:3 NASB). This has been going on for nearly a decade. Evidence that the second horn of the ram (IRGC) is becoming longer than the first horn (Supreme Leader) is displayed in a video designed to inspire young Iranian men to join the military. https://youtu.be/hzVu0aGlYek One brief scene portrays hostage-taking, which can be for bargaining chips to force other militaries to back off while Iran’s fulfills what it is destined to accomplish.
The globalists of Europe and America that armed and cheered on Saddam Hussein were hoping to contain Iran (1980-1988). It only strengthened Iran militarily, and worse, Iran would began manufacturing its own military equipment. Disappointed by Saddam’s failures and shocked by his crimes against humanity, the globalist had their puppet put in his place (1990-1991) and eventually forced Iraq to become a more civilized country (2003-2011), unaware that God was using them to fulfill Daniel 7:4. As the Iraq aspect of the first signpost was ending, the globalists stirred up the “Arab Spring” (2010-2012); it was called that because it failed to overthrow the Iranian regime. Their next moves were to appease Iran through the Iran Nuclear Deal (2015) and to begin arming an ISIS caliphate to contain Iran. In 2016, they were shocked by the election of Trump, who not only helped defeat their ISIS project, but also withdrew America from their Iran Nuclear Deal. Trump is now withdrawing American troops from the Middle East, a good move in the face of an impending second signpost.

The second horn began growing 40 years ago (Daniel Revisited, pp 175-183 [TN] or 173-180 [WB]).

The ram will charge west, north, and south, but not east (Daniel 8:4). Iran and Afghanistan to its east are celebrating a joint railroad project to be mutually beneficial. One thing that perplexes me is that if Iran invades Saudi Arabia in the second signpost, how is it that they are destroyed as Mystery Babylon at the end of the Tribulation?

Hi Brad,
I assume the “they” in your question is Saudi Arabia? Its because the notion that Saudi Arabia / Mecca / Islam is Mystery Babylon is false, I believe. There is too much evidence in the Bible, in many books (e.g. Isaiah, Hosea, Galatians, etc), for MB to be anything else but all humans who do not make God their God. And your question even touches on yet another reason.

Also, do you think that Isaiah 21 is speaking of Mystery Babylon as the final fulfillment? If Saudi Arabia is not Mystery Babylon then who do you think it is?

Hi Brad,
No, Iran would take Saudi Arabia, and with it the oil. This is why there would be peace of mind taken from the world. One-fourth of the oil knocked out. Also, Israel is west, not south, of the starting point (at Susa, or today, Khuzestan). I believe MB is the whole world (see this earlier post).

In Daniel Revisited I show all the Signposts are internal to Islam. The simple reason is that the four horsemen only have authority over a quarter of the earth, and that quarter is Islam.
