[Note: The Third Signpost, as written about in Daniel Revisited, begins with Turkey forming an alliance with Egypt, Syria, and Albania. For Turkey to ally with these countries as the Leopard, would necessarily require all the nations to have a Sunni government, at the least. Syria’s current leader Assad, is Shia.]
(7 Dec 2024) It was back about ten years ago, it looked like Syria was being prepped on the fast track for the Third Signpost. I wrote about that here and here. It looked like the Assad government was on the way out.
With Egypt having a new Islamist government resulting from free elections (before Al-Sisi ended it in a coup), and Assad looking like he was going down, it all made me think that surely the Second Signpost was close because the four-way alliance of the Third Signpost was being quickly prepped.

Erdoğan welcomes Egyptian President Morsi back in late 2012, as two of the four heads of the leopard. Morsi was then removed from the presidency in a coup.
Then God hit the pause button. Let us always remember, the Signposts are about signs and not times. And the times are God’s times.
Well, it now looks like with the Islamist militant group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS)—backed by Erdoğan—is making lightning-fast advances, to finish the job to remove Assad that almost happened ten years ago.
After capturing city after city, HTS is reportedly on the outskirts of Damascus already. Erdoğan’s aim, of course, is to remove Assad and replace him with a Sunni government.
This would enable Erdoğan to become buddies with Syria, per the Third Signpost.
Removing Assad from power would also be further impetus to the Iranian regime to begin the Second Signpost.
Keep watch.

In my own writings, I always put a “date-stamp” in the text itself, i. e. “as of 9 December 2024” or something like that. I strongly encourage you to do the same with this article and future articles, etc.
Your content here is amazing, and I will certainly look into it more than I have, but an article like this in a way has a shelf-life, as does most prophecy and all prophecy re the end-times.
With Iran now shut off from being able to get arms to its proxy Hezbollah through Syria and with their main guy (Assad) gone in Syria, do you think Iran will make some last great defiant move? Maybe they will test a nuke or something and then go for the push….thoughts?
@Jeff this article is dated Dec. 07, 2024
Those drones they’ve been talking about in the news aren’t just in New Jersey or the Northeast. They’re flying around in formations out in the Midwest, too.
Mark, would you have any comments on Abu Mohammad al-Julani? FYI, his mentor was none other than Ayman al-Zawahiri, one of the masterminds of 9/11. Though his words are smooth, he is not to be trusted. From Wikipedia, “In late November 2024, al-Julani led HTS in its Deterrence of Aggression offensive against the pro-Assad Syrian Arab Army.”
Hi Mark. So it looks like their is a power shift going on between Sunni and Shia. Shia had been the most centralized force in the area with a vast majority in Iran, predominance in Iraq and sizable populations in Syria, Lebanon and Yemen. Revising the horns of the ram to represent these two force (Shia/Sunni), might we now be seeing the longer horn growing up last to be Sunni? And with that in mind, has the end time nation of Persia coalesced into what we are witnessing now (the Sunni horn growing longer last), just as Greece coalesced into Turkey? If so, are we witnessing the push northward westward and southward? Certainly the third signpost is setting up before our eyes with Turkey.
Jeanne,
Oh yes. Post coming in another day or two. Thanks for watching.
Thomas,
Yes there is a power shift in Syria. And there will be a couple more. And yes the Third Signpost is being set up even before the Second Signpost starts.
Don’t confuse what’s happening in Syria with the Persian Ram. The Persian Ram – the kings – are the regime of Iran only. As I wrote about in Daniel Revisited, Ch. 10, the first horn is the supreme leader. The second horn is the IRGC, which grew up from being only a bodyguard in 1980, to the great power it is today. Its all explained in the book. I mention it also in this past post.
Yes, Mark I’ve read your book in 2013 have it in my kindle and reference it often. Its just with Iran seemingly taken out of the picture and chances are will be even further removed as a power, I thought maybe it needed to be “revisited”. No pun intended!
I like the apparently new “syrian” flag being the four colors of the horses of the apocalypse.
Although the white, red, black, green scheme is common. But some even portray the solar eclipse of the all-powerful moon god.
Mark: The biggest question that haunted me about Syria was where was the Syrian army and why did the regime collapse so quickly. Here are a couple of videos by a British journalist who was in contact with a Christian Syrian officer giving several reports from Syria as the events unfolded. In short Assad’s army was underpaid, under-motivated, under-equipped and incompetent and was betrayed by senior officers at key battle points.
Mark: Here’s an update on how the Syrian Army fell so quickly. According to the sources this British fellow quotes an advisor of the new Syrian government: the Turks supplied the manpower, the Israelis supplied the radio jamming equipment, and the money to bankroll the soldiers came from……..drum roll please, the government of Qatar. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2iWau71xuQQ
Karl,
Parties against Shia power, coming together.
