Power and Leverage Are Only the Means, Not the Ends, For The IRGC (Day 69)

(8 May 2026) It is now 10 pm MST May 8, or, 4 AM GMT, May 9. As of now, the Strait of Hormuz has been blocked for 69 days.

The idea of the Second Signpost having started March 2 is still in play. And it will remain in play and either be disproved when the regime is completely disbanded, or will be confirmed when the Ram runs out across the Middle East.

This Newsmax article reports that any peace deal is becoming more difficult because the IRGC doesn’t really want a peace deal. The report goes on to say,

“The IRGC appears determined to maintain a hard-line posture that preserves its power and regional leverage.”

Yes, the IRGC is hanging on to and power and leverage, however, those aren’t its end goals. The end goals, as spelled out in Daniel Revisited chapter 10, and shown in this Wikipedia article, is that the IRGC is on its mission to conquer the Middle East, uniting all Muslims to wait for the appearance of Mahdi. The article says about this belief, it,

“Is a concept which holds that until the reappearance of the “infallible Imam” (sometime before Judgement Day), the religious and social affairs of the Muslim world should be administered by righteous Shi’i jurists (Faqīh).”

Power and leverage are the visible keys to the IRGC’s goals, but I would say unlike the news article, the IRGC isn’t maintaining its power, it is maintaining its mission.
