(30 June 2026) It is now 10 pm MST June 30, or, 4 AM GMT, July 1. We have been watching events centered on Iran and its regime, waiting for escalation of what looks to be the Second Signpost.
The Strait of Hormuz was closed solidly for 112 days. It was then open for six (6) days.
As of today, it seems to be officially closed again and has now been closed for four (4) days. Marinetraffic.com still shows only a few ships going through the Strait at the moment.
The global oil inventory continues to be drawn down to the dregs.
There is more analysis concerning Russia.
In the last few days, Dr. John Mearsheimer, International Relations scholar at the University of Chicago, was interviewed twice, on the same topic. One video goes into more detail then the other video, but both have Mearsheimer expressing his opinions.
In the shorter video, which is less than 15 minutes, Mearsheimer is interviewed by Breaking Points.
In the second, longer video, he is interviewed by Dan Davis of Deep Dive. In this 35-minute video Mearsheimer explains more detail.
In both videos, Mearsheimer presents his case that Russia’s redlines are violated, that the West thinks they can continue to attack the nuclear power Russia which won’t respond, but Russia is getting ready to strike back in Ukraine or Eastern Europe.
There is a good chance this escalation would include one or two or three nukes.

Conclusion
Well, now we have two ways that the Second Signpost could explode in our faces suddenly.
With Iran, the IRGC could attack the Arab oil production at any time, and/or America might start pulling forces out of the region due to talks and agreements.
With Russia, WW3 could literally break out at any time, which would likely draw off US military forces.
