(4 July 2026) It is now 11 pm MST July 4, or, 5 AM GMT, July 5. We have been watching events centered on Iran and its regime, waiting for escalation of what looks to be the Second Signpost.
The Strait of Hormuz was closed solidly for 112 days starting on March 2. It was then open for six (6) days.
As of today, it seems to be mostly closed again and has now been closed for eight (8) days, though a few ships are going through. Marinetraffic.com right now shows only a few ships going through the Strait at the moment.
We are a little light on news today coming from Iran or Russia.
Daniel Revisited tells us the WHAT and the HOW of the Signposts. What is it about? How is the interpretation derived?
But have you ever wondered as to WHY the Signpost theory of interpretation was missed by the Church?
I believe the answer is in Daniel 12:4, and 12:9.
That verse, as translated by our English Bibles, says something like “the words of the book are sealed up until the end time.”
That translation leaves much to be desired. I’ll be writing on this topic more in the future, but a better translation might be something like, “the prophetic message of this book is stopped up like a well until the time of the end in the time of the Resurrection.”
If this truly is the case, then it was impossible for mortal man to guess what was being stopped up, and so most prophecy teaching today which is based on guesses made centuries ago, is built on a foundation of sand.

THE FOUR SIGNPOSTS 
In one of his books Walid Shoebat also said the same thing. More specifically he said that based upon Daniel 12 all interpretations of Daniel proir to the end were guaranteed to be wrong.

Excellent to hear Walid is on the same track.
There is something else about this in Daniel 12:8-10 that has appealed to me from when I was young.
I heard, but I did not understand. So I asked, “My lord, what will the outcome of all this be?”
He replied, “Go your way, Daniel, because the words are closed up and sealed until the time of the end.
Many will be purified, made spotless and refined, but the wicked will continue to be wicked. None of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand.
The words are not just sealed until the time of the end. Even then, they will remain sealed for the wicked. Only the wise who let themselves be purified, spotless and refined will understand.
I always took this to be a warning that prophecy can not be studied or understood if you give it too much time and emphasis in your life, especially if it is at the cost of spiritual growth by following Jesus, and bearing fruit while learning to love.
There always were Christians who study prophecy all the time, but are very egocentric in this and do not let their views be challenged, corrected or fine-tuned by others. They can be divisive and full of pride, and scorn for people with different views. It can even be so bad that they bear little if any fruit in the rest of their lives.
I know this from personal experience because my father was like this.
I think this also is true for Christians who keep committing big sins in secret. They do not let themselves be purified.
I have the impression that you, Mark, and Joel Richardson are not like this. You must always watch against this though. The adversary really can try to use this against you.
Thankfully, towards the end of his life my father became milder and friendlier. Very close to his death he even admitted that his life-long espoused view of a Roman antichrist might be wrong, because he had taken notice that some bible texts just did not fit this view, no matter how he tried to explain them away. To my surprise he then even admitted to me that a Muslim antichrist indeed was an option. (I had just read Joels book about this and was impressed by it.)

Yes, there is nothing more important than being light and salt to those around you. For me as you probably know from my writings, I didn’t care a bit about end-time prophecy, but only following Christ. It was when I asked a question and God answered, did I realize I had to pick this up as my/His task in the body of Christ, to warn the Church and help get it ready for the real end times.
Regarding Daniel 12:4, 9, I’ll be clarifying my position on this in the days ahead. There is more to this passage in the Hebrew than meets the eye in the English, as is typical.

Mark and Adamant: This discussion reminds me of a good cliche from a former pastor of mine. He was good at that. When someone said “There’s more to the Christian life than just knowledge” and responded, “Yes, but there’s not less to it.”
When Paul said in 1 Corinthians “Knowledge puffs up, but love edifies”, the solution Paul gave was not to have less knowledge, but to have more love.
