(2 August 2026) It is now 8 am MST August 2, or, 2 pm GMT, August 2. We have been watching events centered on Iran and its regime, waiting for escalation of what looks to be the Second Signpost.
This post and this post made yesterday showed that it looked like the US administration was going to lead us straight into the Second Signpost.
Newsmax reports that President Trump has once again reversed course.
Trump spoke of the conditions for a deal being met, that is, opening the Strait of Hormuz, and Iran not pursuing a nuclear weapon.
Though the regime itself said it was not pursuing a nuke capability, they do not say they will open the Strait unless the regime governs it.
At this point the sticking point for a deal to go through is for the Strait to open, Iran to demand control or not, and if they do demand control, for the US to go along with it.
Conclusion
The pretense of a deal may have allowed Trump to cancel yet again the energy infrastructure strikes that would start the Second Signpost, but at least we have at least a few more days of relative normalcy, before the fan gets hit.
Trump may think he is only starting again and stopping again the Iran War, but what he may be in fact doing is starting again and stopping again the proceeding of the Signposts and thus the dominoes falling one by one that results in the end of the entire age.
