(9 August 2026) It is now 10 pm MST August 9, or, 4 AM GMT, August 10. We have been watching events centered on Iran and its regime, waiting for escalation of what looks to be the Second Signpost. We have been watching since February 28.
The Strait of Hormuz has been closed for 161 days.
Three Paths From Here
As retired Col. Macgregor said, there are three paths forward with this Iran War.
One is for the US to end the war and pull out military forces from the region, essentially retreating.
Second is to do things as they are. Iran controls the Strait, the US has the blockade outside the Strait, and the world continues to lose its extra oil. The US and Iran would also have sporadic attacks back and forth.
Third is to escalate and conduct a land invasion of Iran.
All three paths would eventually result in the Second Signpost, it would just differ as to when it would start. The Second Signpost would begin when the oil price skyrockets and there are fuel shortages. The world economy would begin to be wrecked.
A Path Chosen for Now
The Iranian regime has made a list of demands that need to be met prior to opening the Strait. The demands are:
1) US must give Iran compensation for the war.
2) US must end sanctions on Iran.
3) US must withdraw forces from around Iran.
The Trump administration is apparently not ready for any of these demands. For now, Trump said he is “low keying” it meaning he will let things ride in order to economically squeeze Iran.
Conclusion
I don’t believe Trump is being realistic here. The world will be economically squeezed before Iran is.
Letting the war ride as is with no change might result in the longest delay of the three paths, until the regime destroys the entire Arab oil infrastructure.
This is bad for economies, but good for those of us who are preparing and spreading the message.
