Turkey Justified by Agreement to Third Signpost

(11 August 2026) It is now 9 pm MST August 11, or, 3 AM GMT, August 12. We have been watching events centered on Iran and its regime, waiting for escalation of what looks to be the Second Signpost.

We have been watching since February 28. The Strait of Hormuz has been closed since March 2, and has been so for 163 days.

The Mecca Joint Defense Agreement

Russia Today reports about the meeting and signing of the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement, in Mecca. Saudi Arabia and Pakistan already had a joint military agreement, but now Turkey has joined.

It is confirmed that the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement, “commits the three countries to regard an armed attack against one of them as an attack against all.”

For Saudi Arabia, this adds a layer of military protection on top of the US, and a feeling of more security for the House of Saud, against aggression by Iran.

For Turkey, this could be the backbone of a new paradigm to allow Turkey to better dictate how the Middle East will run. President Erdogan of Turkey has always had imperialistic ambitions to expand Turkish power back to the way it was in the days of the Ottomans.

Third Signpost Preparation

Saudi Arabia is not one of the four nations to form the Sunni Confederacy as, according to the Second Signpost, it will have been conquered and occupied by Iran’s Shia armies. However, if Iran does conquer Arabia, it gives Turkey the complete legal right to invade Saudi Arabia and take it back.

With Turkish and possibly Egyptian armies in Saudi Arabia, they would form the new nation in the southeast quadrant of the Middle East, which I called “New Arabia” in chapter 12 of Daniel Revisited.

Conclusion

Yes, the spotlight is on Iran and the Second Signpost. In fact, as the Signposts roll by the nation or nations associated with each one would dominate the news headlines during that time.

However, we should also watch for any developments for the Third signpost.

So far we have this agreement between Turkey and Saudi Arabia, we have the coming famine this spring as a harbinger to the Third Signpost, Syria and Turkey are allies now and friendship was extended to Egypt.

The elements of the Third Signpost are starting to emerge and come together.
