(25 August 2026) It is now 9 pm MST August 25, or, 3 AM GMT, August 26. We have been watching events centered on Iran and its regime, waiting for escalation of what looks to be the Second Signpost.
We have been watching since February 28. The Strait of Hormuz was mostly closed from March 2 to August 23 or so, being about 175 days. The Strait is sporadically open, and is under the control of the Iranian regime.
The world continues to bleed about 3 million to 8 million barrels per day of oil.
Specter of the Third Horseman
Ukraine has already launched attack after attack using UK-manufactured drones to destroy Russia’s oil refining capability, just as the world needs those fuels.
It seems the prevailing mindset of the Ukrainian government as well as the entire West is one of suicide. Destroying fuel refining in Russia, and shutting down oil shipments in the Strait of Hormuz are creating misery for tens if not hundreds of millions of people globally, as prices rise making it harder for poor nations to cope day-to-day.
And now this maritime news item reports that Ukraine and Russia have also destroyed together 97 percent of all their grain export capacity, just as the world will be facing famine this coming spring.
Wheat prices are already 30 percent higher than one year ago. This would seem to be a trend headed in the direction of Revelation 6:6 which says, “A quart of wheat for a day’s wages.”
DW, a German news site, reports that the situation is also made worse because most of the potential harvest ha snot happened, and farmers in Ukraine do not have the money to harvest if they can’t sell their product at the ports. Even if they could harvest, there is not nearly the storage capacity in the country.
Many farmers report they will just leave their corn in the field and not harvest it. There is also a farm labor shortage due to the war.
Conclusion
The potential for greater famine around the world is growing. The complexity in the supply chain even for grains is our undoing.
The second horseman will take away the peace of mind of the earth, removing the means to put food on the table, but the third will take away the food.
Do not count on this situation getting better, for the Second Signpost is next.
It will only get better once Christ returns.
