Diesel Over $10 in California; Yanbu Pipeline Hit

(10 September 2026) We have been watching events centered on Iran and its regime, waiting for escalation of what looks to be the Second Signpost.

We have been watching since February 28. The Strait of Hormuz was mostly closed from March 2 to August 23 or so, being about 175 days. The Strait was sporadically open, and is now basically closed, although there are rumors of oil tankers getting through.

Diesel in California

Here in the United States, California stands out as being an “energy island”. California is cut off from the rest of the country with no pipelines going to and from California.

The environmental zealots on the Left who rule California have been shutting down California’s fuel refineries, while relying on Japan and Korea for fuel imports, just as Australia does.

We have been watching for the last few weeks the fact that the US refineries are running full capacity without maintenance to keep the diesel flowing. That’s good for the rest of the country, but what about California? California’s fuel supply is more vulnerable to disruptions.

And so according to a report from Canadian Prepper at time 04:09, here it is. Diesel in California is now more than $10 per gallon. The outside signs are pegged at $9.99, so one must go into the gas station to find out what the true price is. (This price is confirmed by this Fox report.)

At that price, supply chains and food deliveries become much more expensive if not intermittent. We will see.

I consider this the first sign of things breaking here in the US with diesel over $10 per gallon on the west coast.

Saudi Pipeline

This news story reports that the Houthis attacked the Yanbu pipeline that the Saudis use to ship oil out of the Red Sea. We don’t know at this point how much of the 5 million barrels of oil per day is cut off right now.

Conclusion

Global oil supplies continue to be low. Oil production and export, already not keeping up with demand, just had a potentially major reduction.

Fuel prices will continue to creep up, but at some point there will be shortages and rationing. California just passed a major line in the sand at the incredible price of diesel at $10 per gallon.

US forces are retreating from the region.

The Second signpost looks all but certain at this point.
