Map of ISIS Controlled Areas A Map for Iran’s Attack Route?

The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) seems to be doing a rather good, detailed job of analyzing and reporting ISIS’ actions and strategies in Syria and Iraq.  They have published a report in pdf form which they have made available for downloading.

There is a map of Syria and Iraq showing the areas of ISIS control on the bottom-half of page 3.  Interesting that the colored zones are in red and black – the colors of the Second and Third Signposts, respectively.  The map reminds me of the words of Daniel 8:4, “I watched the ram as he charged toward the west and the north and the south. No animal could stand against him, and none could rescue from his power.”

So where might the Iranian ram charge to the west and to the north?  It might be a good bet Iranian forces will follow the red and black highlighted roads on that map to start with in order to completely finish ISIS.  So we might be looking at a map of the Iranian advance as it is to happen in the not-too-distant future.

  1. Hi Mark,
Interesting to note that ISIL lobbed a few mortars at the shrine in Samarra today, ,We will have to see how Iran Responds & I assume that they will respond quickly. They may be advancing on the attack routes you posted faster than we expected,

  2. Hi Mark and All Due Respect,
Looks like at least one of those lobs struck its target. We will see what Iran does about it.

  3. Hi Mark, I am new to your blog, but I have read your new book, Daniel Revisited, which was an awesome read!

I am watching closely the issue with ISIS and Iran as it relates to Daniel’s prophecy. I had no idea that Daniel 8 was referring to the future. I was taught that it found full fulfilment in history.

I couldn’t help but notice this report out of Worldnetdaily this morning:

It seems to fit perfectly with what you have revealed in your book. Thanks for all your hard work! I will certainly add this site to my list of favorites!

  4. Welcome, Vernon. Thanks also for the link. This is indeed another reason for Iran to invade.

  5. Great link Vernon…thanks!

  6. Iran is looking to control the Middle East after isle
