In this earlier post it was argued that President Trump was surrounding himself with hawks and this situation could lead to the United States invading Iran and thus triggering the Second Signpost.
This past week Iran conducted a ballistic missile test and their Houthi allies attacked a Saudi frigate.
National Security Advisor Michael Flynn responded by saying Iran is on notice. What could this mean? A return to sanctions or even military action?
Pat Buchanan wrote an op-ed about this development with Iran in The Coming Clash with Iran. One of the conclusions he made was,
“Wednesday’s White House statement makes a collision with Iran almost unavoidable, and a war with Iran quite possible.”
I believe Mr. Buchanan comes to a logical conclusion about a coming confrontation with Iran except for one: it will be no “clash” but the next step in the end of the age, i.e. the Second Signpost.
Trump surrounding himself with generals and hawks seemed to be a sign that the US might trigger the Second Signpost with military action. We may have just witnessed the Trump administration’s first move toward that end.

The IRGC has answered: “We are working day and night to protect Iran’s security,” head of Revolutionary Guards’ aerospace unit, Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh was quoted as saying by Tasnim news agency. “If we see smallest misstep from the enemies, our roaring missiles will fall on their heads,” he added.
Also new missile tests for today were announced: “Iranian state news agencies reported that home-made missile systems, radars, command and control centres, and cyber warfare systems would be tested in Saturday’s drill.”

The Dutch radio has just announced fifteen minutes ago that those tests indeed were done today. I could find no weblink for that yet.
I agree! This is getting very interesting!
If Donald Trump and his advisers and his cabinet members – and maybe even the congressmen who support him – actually start a way with Iran or any other country, they should make their sons and daughters and grandchildren, and they themselves if they are young enough, be the first to enlist and be sent onto the battlefield. It is a blemish on our country that those who act to cause a war these days are never in the military and have never fought in a war themselves. Except for Kerry and McCain, who fought in Vietnam, and Obama who was too young, the baby boomer presidential candidates of both parties did everything they could to get out of fighting…. and then Bush 43 and now Trump and company are looking to send other people and their loved ones to fight in a war, but not their own.
We need to remember that Iran was also involved with the terrorists that were engaged in 9-11
We also need to remember the Iranian goal – the capture (or ‘liberation’ lie) of Jerusalem – as in their many military rehearsals for that objective, one of which caught my attention at the height of the Iran-Iraq war when elite unites from both sides – although ostensibly enemies! – practised storming Jerusalem. Hence my watching for 30 years!!!
So we need to avoid overlooking the obvious and blaming people who are properly clued-up to reality.
