It looks like the Second Signpost could happen any time now.
The geopolitical setup of today’s world, that is, the ongoing crises of Israel with Hamas and Hezbollah, and Russia and the West with Ukraine, nested in the various alliances of nations that exist today, is not unlike the political set up before World War 1. All it took was a single gunshot in the streets of Sarajevo to trigger the falling of the dominoes existing within the various alliances of the time, resulting in redrawing the world map, and millions of people killed.
Fortunately, the shot that rang out July 13 in Pennsylvania was not the trigger this time.
The Four Signposts
There are Four Signposts in total, all to occur prior to the seven years of Tribulation. These are written about in my book Daniel Revisited.
The First Signpost fulfilled Bible end-time prophecy in 2003-5, when Iraq’s leader bent on conquest was removed, and Iraq’s government was changed from something brutal to something half-civilized (ref. Dan. 7:4; Rev. 6:2).
The Second Signpost
The Second Signpost, the next event in an interpretation of Bible end-time prophecy, says Iran will run out across the Middle East, cause chaos and murder, and shut off the oil spigot, causing in turn worldwide economic chaos (ref. Dan. 7:5, 8:4; Rev. 6:4).
The Persian Ram, in the form of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has everything in place—the ideologies, strategies, weapons, and manpower—for charging out as the Persian Ram of Daniel 8 and for causing chaos like the bear of Daniel 7.
Right now, the Second Signpost could begin without any notice.
However, there seems to be one thing standing in Iran’s way. That is the US military stationed in the region. If the Second Signpost is to begin any time, than the US military would either be defeated or removed at any time.
And that presents a real danger for the United States.
The Psalm 83 War
In addition, there are reasons to believe the Psalm 83 War could occur in parallel to the Second Signpost. Iran would use all the militias it supports, immediately surrounding Israel, to bog Israel down which would allow the IRGC to freely run out across the Middle East just as Daniel 8:4 says.
From the news we have heard that Israel could have another war with Hezbollah at any time. And if Israel were to attack Hezbollah, Iran has threatened to open up a multi-front war with Israel.
This would be the Psalm 83 War. It could begin at any time.
Two Parallel Events, Two Major Triggers
If we have two events to run in parallel—the Second Signpost and the Psalm 83 War—then the trigger for either one, if first triggered, would trigger the other.
The trigger for the Psalm 83 War is Israel or Hezbollah beginning an attack on each other.
The trigger for the Second Signpost, as mentioned above, could very well be the removal of the US military from the Middle East. There really are only two events that could make this happen, barring the US all of a sudden does a turnabout and voluntarily brings everyone home, and no longer asserting its will throughout the world. The first is the US is embroiled in a major world war with China and Russia. This would likely involve nuclear weapons. The second is a major domestic war.
A Host of Little Triggers
If you follow national and world events, you probably can already see that a new world war or Civil War 2.0 could have all kinds of triggers. And this is where it gets complicated.
What could cause World War 3? It could be China’s wish for world hegemony starting with taking Taiwan. It could be the West poking the Russian bear one to many times, crossing too-deep of a redline with Russia, making Russia lash out. And with China and Russia being allies, the US would instantly have two enemies to fight if the US gets into a war with either one. It seems every week, is another advance against Russia’s redline, or another possible trigger in the Taiwan Strait.
What could cause Civil War 2.0? The American Left cheating in another election? How about if Trump wins the election? Evil tyrants who want to control and have power over everything sometimes burn down the whole house if they can’t have it. If either party wins the White House, we will likely see the trigger of a second civil war. Or a civil war could morph into a second American revolution, resetting the government back to 1789.
And let’s not forget a common factor that could start either a civil war or World War 3, and that is the tens of thousands of military-age men from China, Iran, and wherever else, that have been let into this country to cause sabotage to our infrastructure, and to cause chaos and killing across our land, at the same time China and Russia attack.
It is very plausible that Russia and China could cripple the US while Russia and China are relatively unscathed. Think nuclear-tipped hypersonic cruise missiles traveling from Russian subs to key targets near the US coast taking out those targets in 2.5 minutes flat with no warning, timed with the invading migrant army (and we house them!) causing chaos.
Conclusion
You can likely see that due to the state of the world, the Middle East, and of the US itself, any single event could trigger all this.
If the Psalm 83 War starts first, Iran would take advantage of that. It could have Russia and China trigger its war with the US early, so the IRGC would be free to run.
If World War 3 begins due to any stepping too far over lines, that would trigger the Second Signpost and the Psalm 83 War as well.
If America has a second civil war or revolution, America’s enemies could take advantage of that and World War 3 and the Second Signpost are next.
God has, for whatever His reason is, restrained things so far. Like July 13’s bullet missing by millimeters. Like Russia holding back after the attack on the beach in Crimea.
The time has not been yet. But it seems to be coming.
Never before have we had so many possible triggers for so many concurrent events.
Remember the horseman on revelation 6:4—he took peace of mind from the entire world. In addition to one-quarter of the world’s oil being shut off and prices going through the roof, worldwide war would also contribute to that loss of peace of mind.
And don’t forget Jesus’ words in Matthew 24:6. The word for fear or alarm in our English Bibles is “throeó” (Strong’s #2360), meaning to scream, or to cry aloud due to terror. When these things happen the world will want to do just that. But Jesus told us not to.
Be ready. It could happen before the end of this year with the election season. And it amazes me that the American church continues to slumber.
Test your heart. Pull down any idols. That is the best way to prepare for we have His promises that He will take care of you if you are His.

THE FOUR SIGNPOSTS 
The continual onslaught of school-shootings versus the real need for people to be able to own guns for self-defense and to kill wild pigs (a real problem) will be more than a small part of what triggers the Second American Civil War.
The liberals (who have the cultural and moral high-ground at the moment) will themselves take up arms. Is their patience running thin?
We will take the guns from conservatives only from their cold, dead hands. And this is not Australia. Gun-confiscation in the U. S. is neither logistically possible or socially feasible. Moreover, it would simply deprive law-abiding people of all political persuasions the means to defend themselves when bad and well-armed actors come calling to their doorsteps.
Moreover, conservatives seem to absolutely refuse to even begin to engage the public on the need for mental-health-awareness and background-checks for prospective gun-owners. What are conservative pastors and major conservative / mega-church donors saying about all this when the “liberals” aren’t looking?
No matter who wins in November, are we to have another January 6th? The media seems to want this, including conservative media. There are perhaps fewer than a hundred people who control the media worldwide and therefore a large part of the public discourse throughout the West. Most of these people we have never heard of, but a few we have: Rupert Murdoch, Mark Zuckerberg, and the list goes on.
There are liberal university academics and donors along with conservative megachurch pastors and major conservative church-donors more culturally powerful than any single person in Congress could ever hope to be.
And is the patience of the conservative movement running thin, too?
A huge part of America’s “divide” comes from the lack of self-introspection called for in Matt. 7:3-5. There is also a lack of empathy in all quarters.
Then again, certain injustices (real or imagined) have gone on for so long the question is being asked “when is enough enough?”.

It’s anyone’s guess, Pro. My own opinion is either Psalm 83 like you say, or, WW3 between Russia/China and the USA.
The true prophets have been sent to declare no WW III. Listen to Kim Clement who was given revelation that The LORD will intervene because of the harvest to be reaped. The Adversary sought to change times and seasons, however, The Ruach Hakodesh and Yeshua have won the case against Satan in The Supreme Court of Heaven and denied him any rights assume to take Adam’s lease before the Great Awakening for the Great Harvest of Souls has been accomplished. But we also must follow through. If there is a WW3 then we will know who the false prophets are without any denials or glossing over.
The Great Awakening to occur across the world will only happen when the cultural idolatries of each region (in America its wealth) are stripped away.
