Persian Ram Not Allowing Oil Inventories to Refill

(8 July 2026) It is now 10 pm MST July 8, or, 5 AM GMT, July 9. We have been watching events centered on Iran and its regime, waiting for escalation of what looks to be the Second Signpost.

The Strait of Hormuz is closed again. The Strait was closed solidly for 112 days starting on March 2, allowing the global inventory of oil to drain to near zero.

It has now been 18 days that the closure ended and the Strait opened, but the opening has been on again and off again. And now the Strait is closed again.

So where does that put us?

President Trump said he is not sure he wants the MOU anymore and says the US should “finish the job.” The problem with that line of thinking is what would that buy the US? More of the same? More visible targets destroyed while the IRGC keeps its ability to shut down the Strait at will?

Meanwhile, the US continued to strike Iranian coastal targets today.

In response to all this, an Iranian government source made the following statement:

“Following any strike against Iran, two immediate actions will be taken: first, the Strait of Hormuz will be completely closed to all maritime traffic; and second, Iran will strike enemy targets at a ratio of at least two to one, meaning that for every Iranian target hit, at least two enemy targets will be struck in return.”

Today the Strait is closed anyway due to fear in the maritime shipping industry after three cargo vessels were hit a few days ago.

Conclusion

I believe the IRGC wants to keep the global oil inventory near zero, so when it strikes the Arab oil facilities later in the year with boots on the ground in the Arab nations, the economic chaos in the entire world can be immediately felt.

Iran is keeping the overall world starving of that last 10–12 million barrels per day so inventories cannot be refilled.

Of course, Iran could strike the Arab oil facilities at any time. That’s why we are in this game of musical chairs, and the music hasn’t stopped yet. When it does stop, the Second Signpost likely picks up.

Keep watch.
