US Naval Forces Gathering In Gulf of Oman

(10 July 2026) It is now 10 pm MST July 10, or, 5 AM GMT, July 11. We have been watching events centered on Iran and its regime, waiting for escalation of what looks to be the Second Signpost.

The Strait of Hormuz is closed again. The Strait was closed solidly for 112 days starting on March 2, allowing the global inventory of oil to drain to near zero.

It has now been 20 days that the closure ended and the Strait opened, but the opening has been on again and off again. And now the Strait is closed again.

Newsmax reports that two carriers—the USS Abraham Lincoln and USS George H.W. Bush—with 20 other naval combat ships are sailing to the Gulf of Oman, just outside of the Strait of Hormuz.

Speculation is the US will reinstate the naval blockade and/or step up attacks on Iranian targets.

Conclusion

It looks like the on-again, off-again closing of the Strait, and the tit-for-tat exchange of attacks between Iran and the US that has been going on for the last three weeks or so, is about to step up again. We may see the intensity of the Iran War we saw a couple months ago, re-start.

Keep watch.
