Good Summary of the Past, and Us Looking to What’s Ahead

(28 July 2026) It is now 9 pm MST July 28, or, 3 AM GMT, July 29. We have been watching events centered on Iran and its regime, waiting for escalation of what looks to be the Second Signpost. We have been watching since February 28.

The Strait of Hormuz has been closed for 150 days. That is five months even.

Summary and Status of the War So Far

Ron Unz on his website wrote an excellent article summarizing the war so far, how America is losing, and Iran is winning.

Some highlights:

“At the time, few observers believed that Iran could survive that massive onslaught. . . Caught by surprise and faced with such overwhelming enemy power, Iran seemed certain to crumble, suffering a rapid defeat.

“However, contrary to all those expectations, the Iranians absorbed those heavy blows and held up. Drawing upon their huge concealed arsenal of ballistic missiles and powerful drones, they began inflicting serious damage upon some of our local bases, destroying several of our most important strategic radar installations, very difficult and expensive to replace.”

And,

“As Trump considered his military options for forcibly reopening that crucial waterway, he discovered that none of them were viable.”

Unz writes about the MOU, the breaking of it, the mission to rescue the two American pilots, the drawdown of missiles, the destruction of US bases. He also uses Lego movies that Iran released which are fairly entertaining.

Unz also links a video showing how China saved the world by drawing down its own reserves fairly recently so that its imports were cut in half. I think China only did this to work with Iran to time the world oil shock just right.

Unz notes that analysts were saying the world’s extra oil would be gone in June or July, but temporarily opening the Strait helped keep reserves up to now.

At this point also, the last 13 days of bombing accomplished very little for there are no more above ground targets of significance. And yet Iran still has ten US bases it can continue to destroy.

The Future

There are many who are guessing the future.

We have the Signposts. And if Signpost theory is true then we have a fairly good idea of which way the Middle East and the world are headed.

A major global famine is coming next spring. This may be the opening act of the Third Signpost at that time. If it is, the invasion and occupation by Iran of the Middle East would occur from this October to about March 2027.

And if that is the case, we are looking at Iran destroying the Arab oil infrastructure somewhere between now and October. They would do this to contribute to turmoil within America such as Trump fighting for his political life, diesel shortages, all contributing to mitigating America’s ability to project power.

Remember, the Persian Ram will get to do all it wants to do and no one will be able to stop it or rescue from its power, so American power may be reduced or gone in the Middle East by that time.
