(31 July 2026) It is now 10 pm MST July 31, or, 4 AM GMT, August 1. We have been watching events centered on Iran and its regime, waiting for escalation of what looks to be the Second Signpost. We have been watching since February 28.
The Strait of Hormuz has been closed for 153 days.
Newsmax reports that the US and Israel are getting ready to escalate the war by hitting oil and power plant targets. Plans are being made.
At the same time, Iran again is reminding the US that it will take out US- and Israeli-allied energy infrastructure.
Conclusion
Again, one troublesome aspect of this war is the same as always—we just don’t know when the US will actually attack. Newsmax says it might be this weekend. But no one outside of the administration knows.
Keep watch, for when Iran carries out its threat, the full force of the Second Signpost could be upon us.

THE FOUR SIGNPOSTS 
Yes, this will get serious if Trump really decides to do it – this weekend or another weekend. Some quotes from CBS yesterday:
The United States and Israel are planning what would be one of the harshest bombing campaigns to date against energy infrastructure targets in Iran, multiple sources told CBS News, with strikes possible throughout the weekend.
There was some discussion about trying to conclude by the time financial markets open Monday because of concern about how the bombings will affect the U.S. and global economy, but an end point wasn’t locked in.
The Israelis have been notified and are coordinating with the United States, according to multiple U.S. sources. The president has yet to give the final ‘go’ orders for the strikes, the sources said.
While reporters were in the room, Mr. Trump said: “We’ll be hitting them very hard. At some point, they’re going to say, ‘We just can’t take it any more.'”
“I think we just want to win,” he told the press when asked about reviving diplomacy.
Energy infrastructure including power plants and refineries would likely be targeted, two of the sources said.
A former U.S. military official told CBS that the value of hitting energy infrastructure would be to impact the Iranian military’s ability to provide services and effectively govern.
There were high-level U.S. discussions Friday about cutting electricity across Tehran, but no decision had been made as of Friday afternoon.

I have a dark suspicion that the underground missile and drone cities are not connected to the civil Iranian electricity network, and so will not be affected at all.
So all the above, if carried out, will be the perfect invitation to the IRGC to keep its word and retaliate by destroying the Gulf infrastructure.
That would definitely be the first phase of the Second Signpost.
If that will not take away the peace / complacency from the earth, I do not know what would.
The ground invasion though could come (much) later.
Meanwhile:
– Europe experiences record heats, droughts and forest fires, affecting the fall harvests negatively.
– El Nino in the Pacific is developing as feared, and now a similar thing seems to start in the Indian Ocean: the equatorial surface temperature there is also rising higher than usual. Those two together might bring us in uncharted territory.
– Ebola in East Congo keep spreading. Not explosively but still out of control. Many medics are dead or dying. The authorities try to stop it by blocking all traffic from some areas. This can become a huge crisis for a large part of Africa. It is unlikely that it will affect the rest of the world – unless the virus mutates into a more contagious variant. I do not know the likelihood of that; only that the chance rises with every new case.
