(18 August 2026) It is now 7 pm MST August 18, or, 1 AM GMT, August 19. We have been watching events centered on Iran and its regime, waiting for escalation of what looks to be the Second Signpost.
We have been watching since February 28. The Strait of Hormuz has been closed since March 2, and has been so for 170 days.
Two days ago I made this post about the US Navy pulling out of the Persian Gulf.
This video on from Breaking Points gives us the real reason why. The section of interest runs from the beginning to about time 06:36.
It turns out the reason the US Navy must withdraw is due to a strategic decision made back in the 1990’s.
Have you noticed how pictures of flotillas seem to be smaller than they were, say, 30 years ago? Have you noticed that the number of US military bases ballooned to over 700 after the 1990s?
It turns out the reason for all this is that the US Navy switched from military auxiliary ships providing fuel and food—that steamed alongside the warships—to reliance on civilian ships to build bases. In other words, land bases became the new auxiliary ships.
So all Iran had to do was bombard the ten US bases in the Arab countries including the Fifth Fleet headquarters in Bahrain, and voila, the US Navy can’t be resupplied by its bases.
Conclusion
Though there are still something like 30,000 land-based military personnel in the Middle East, the US Navy is not present, being in the Arabian Sea. They are there not only due to fear of being hit by an Iranian missile, but also to keep supply lines shorter to distant Diego Garcia.
By itself, this situation will likely not result by itself in US forces withdrawing, but it certainly would be a contributing factor.
Funny, how in the first few days of March critics of the Signposts were saying how it couldn’t be true because the US was smashing Iranian power.
Well, the framework of the theory of interpretation is sound logically, and it is standing the test of Mideast events. The way things are going it looks very much like Iran could bring on the full Second Signpost.
Keep watch.

Is Iran the now wounded beast that will mysteriously heal and rise into a super-power? the Red Horse?
I believe the following: that Iran will never build a nuclear weapon but will be “given a great sword”, i.e. a nuke from Pakistan/North Korea?
And Shia Iran will nuke the port of Jeddah in Saudi Arabia making the Sunni black stone inaccessible? And will change worship direction from Mecca into Jerusalem?
plus there will be, might be, an extra-terrestial connection sometimes in the future.
Hi Martinez,
We will have to wait and see.
Regarding the wounded head on the beast, there are seven heads in total, and so we don’t know which head in particular it is. I lean towards the wounded head being the seventh head, Islam itself, who’s Caliph (government=seventh head) was destroyed in 1924 and will be brought back with Mahdi. The Iranian regime (government=second head) has survived intact since its inception in 1979. Interesting take though.
What is your opinion on what all 7 heads are? Correct me if I’m wrong, but do you mean that the Iranian regime is the second head of the beast and the seventh head being the islamic caliph? If so, what do you think the first, third, fourth, fifth, sixth are?
I’m very interested in your perspective
Martinez,
This topic is written up in chapter 5 of Daniel Revisited. That chapter is devoted to showing why Daniel 7 is not only an integral part of the Signpost framework, but it identifies the heads.
The heads themselves are governments, the political powers, of the seven nations. The seven nations among the seven heads of the beast are the end time versions of the seven nations in the image in Daniel 2. They are being punished in the end times because of their role in being used by seven-headed dragon in Daniel 12, to destroy Israel throughout history. The seven heads have seven crowns, but then the crowns are transferred in the endtime to the seven-headed beast, which is a conglomeration of the four beasts of daniel 7.
To identify the endtime nations among the beasts, you only have to identify their ancient/medieval counterpart that tried to destroy Israel.
So the lion is Iraq, the bear is Iran, the leopard is Turkey/syria/Egypt/Albania, and the fourth beast is the Islamic Empire/Realm.
The four beasts are four events (the Four Signposts) in the endtime. The first one (First Signpost) occurred in 2003-05 with Iraq. The second one (Second Signpost) is starting now.
If you haven’t read the book, I recommend it. If you have read it you might want to reread it since there is alot in it.
