US-Iran Missile Exchange

(30 August 2026) We have been watching events centered on Iran and its regime, waiting for escalation of what looks to be the Second Signpost.

We have been watching since February 28. The Strait of Hormuz was mostly closed from March 2 to August 23 or so, being about 175 days. The Strait is sporadically open, and is under the control of the Iranian regime.

Newsmax reports that for the first time since July 29 the US attacked targets in Iran. It was an attempt to destroy Iran’s capability to launch missiles at ships in the Strait of Hormuz. Missile launchers on Larak Island (a small island off the coast of Iran’s larger Qeshm Island).

Iran vowed retaliation and so launched eight missiles at a US base in Jordan.

Conclusion

This “skirmish” was yet another attempt by the US to try to open the Strait of Hormuz by removing Iran’s ability to strike ships. As near as anyone could tell, this move had no effect except for another strike on a US base.

Keep watch.
