A King of the Medes and Persians In Interview

(1 September 2026) We have been watching events centered on Iran and its regime, waiting for escalation of what looks to be the Second Signpost.

We have been watching since February 28. The Strait of Hormuz was mostly closed from March 2 to August 23 or so, being about 175 days. The Strait was sporadically open, and is now basically closed due to reports that Iran is laying mines in the Strait again.

Remember the Basij? That’s the volunteer paramilitary arm of the IRGC that provides the morality police in Iran, and provided the human waves that went against Saddam’s Iraqi troops during the Iran-Iraq war of the 1980’s.

The commanding general of the Basij, Mohammad Reza Naqdi, sat down for an interview about the regime’s views of the Iran War. Some of the interview was captured on X. Some of it is in this YouTube video. Of course the general could be stretching truths or lying, but what he said was interesting. (Don’t forget also, the general is one of the kings of the Medes and Persians. Check out his lapel in the video.)

Brigadier General Naqdi, recently promoted from Basij commander to deputy commander of all the IRGC.

General Naqdi said that the Iran War has given the IRGC experience in war, for before this, the IRGC hasn’t been directly involved in a major war since the 1980’s.

On X Naqdi said (and you can read it in this video as well),

“We expected victory because we were certain and confident in God’s promise and His support. But we did not expect victory to come this easily.

The Americans possess a hundred times more weapons than we do, and they have better missiles and drones, but they cannot use them effectively.

Our assessment of the capabilities of the US armed forces was greater than what turned out to be the case.

More than 90% of our missiles are still there.

We are currently producing at a rate exceeding our consumption at the front.

Our stockpile is increasing.”

Conclusion

The kings of the Medes and Persians have been given war fighting experience. They found out that the US cannot take them down. They are controlling the narrative on how much oil is allowed out of the Strait.

I believe it is only a matter of time before the Second Signpost will proceed at full speed.

How do we prepare? Jesus told us:

“He who stands firm to the end will be saved.” (Matt. 24:13)

“By standing firm you will gain life.” (Luke 21:19)

“Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.” (Luke 21:36)

It means to walk by the Spirit, being surrendered, dying to self, living for Christ.
