(4 September 2026) We have been watching events centered on Iran and its regime, waiting for escalation of what looks to be the Second Signpost.
We have been watching since February 28. The Strait of Hormuz was mostly closed from March 2 to August 23 or so, being about 175 days. The Strait was sporadically open, and is now basically closed due to reports that Iran is laying mines in the Strait again.
Being a slow news day, let’s take a look at where we are in fulfilling Daniel 8:3b–4.

What follows are the four statements in the referenced passage in the NIV, and a status on fulfillment, per the Signpost theory.
One of the horns was longer than the other but grew up later. Completed. The growth of the second horn began back in 1980 and continued up to the present day. It finished when the second horn told the first horn to elect a new supreme leader.
I watched the ram as he charged toward the west and the north and the south. Not started. This has not happened yet, but is being prepared. The bear of Daniel 7 and the second horseman of Revelation 6 given power to allow men to slay one another are in parallel to this part of Daniel 8:4.
No animal could stand against him, and none could rescue from his power. Starting. The US military tried to take out the regime, which is the Persian Ram, but failed. The regime is now more powerful, having control over the opening and closing of the Strait of Hormuz. There is much more that Iran will be doing.
He did as he pleased and became great. Ramping up. Iran will achieve its greatest power when it has shut down one-quarter of the world’s oil supply, and has invaded Middle East Muslim countries. The Persian Ram is now greater than it was at the start of the war.
Conclusion
Scripture under the interpretation of Signpost theory continues to be fulfilled.
If this all is the Second Signpost we will see the bear and the second horseman completely fulfilled.

Probably completed imho. My pet theory on this is that Satan will entice someone to become a Twelver Shia claimant, thereby galvanizing Twelver Iran for the invasion.

Foreshadowed in present events at the very least, but I have to wonder if God is talking about specific events once the ram-invasion has begun.

Foreshadowing in the present hour (5 Sept. 2026), but this, too, is for during the ram-invasion imho.

This is being foreshadowed as well. We think the Iranian regime is great now, but it is nothing compared to her state once America is out of the way, Israel is somehow neutralized, and the fourth king has his “riches” per Daniel 11:2.
It’s the “riches” part and the “beef” the ram will have to have with Asia Minor per Daniel 11:2 that make me think all of this is perhaps a year off. I could be wrong, and I do not dispute your assertion we will see famine at the very least in the Indian subcontinent and the Far East before next Passover.
And of course, I could be wrong. More and more, your contention the fourth king of Daniel 11:2 is the IRGC becomes more and more like that’s the way things are going to go down.

Some clarifications – –
– The charging out as you know I believe will be a specific invasion, going hand-in-hand with the bear and the second horseman’s slaying.
– The no one stopping the ram as started. Already the US can not stop Iran, and no one will stop Iran during the whole Second Signpost.
– “Became great” is also starting now. Iran has already gained greater leverage, but this too will increase as we get more into the Second Signpost.
Ha! I am getting overly nit-picky, I expect.
I also need to sit down with all your books, LibreOfficeCalc (spreadsheets), and go through everything line by line. I will probably begin with “Chronicles of the End Times”.
My great book on end-times Bible prophecy will never be finished.
I also wonder if a chiasm could start in one book of scripture and end in another.
As for the Middle East, there is so much smoke-and-mirrors from Trump and Iran, I just don’t watch the news that much right now.
And don’t get me started on the L. Clancy business. This is another plot of Satan to whittle this country into oblivion imho, BUT this is also way off-topic, at least on the surface: discourse of such evil as the West (and everywhere else??) has never before seen is now on TikTok.

This is also a thought that crosses my mind since recently.
A false Mahdi, recognized by the Twelver Shia’s and maybe some other Shia’s, emboldening them them to invade in religious fervor.
If then in the third signpost this false Mahdi and his army are defeated and killed, this will confirm the Sunni’s in their belief, opening them up to uniting and resurrecting a Caliphate (under Caliph Erdogan?)
The surviving Shia’s will be utterly devastated, knowing they were wrong after all. Some may turn Sunni, supporting the Caliphate, but I hope that some (many?) will turn to the real Jesus. It sure will be an opportunity for the Iranian Christians.
The short-lived Caliphate will then break into four pieces, which will dishearten the Sunni’s to an extent; the Caliphate was not Allah’s way again after all, or just not yet.
This will then open the hearts of all Muslims to the coming of the Sunni Mahdi.

We don’t know yet about Mahdi’s sect yet, and the Bible is silent,. He will be expected by the Shias, and Iran is listed as the first nation to join in Ezekiel 38. So he might be Shia.
He must conquer the new Turkish nation, the new Egyptian nation, and the new Arabian nation (the three horns to be uprooted). He might do it by military means or diplomatic. Daniel 11 says he gains control of Egypt, which could be militarily or diplomatically. Why would he conquer Sunni nations? Is it because he is Shia, or is it for the more simple reason that he is an outside invader to Egypt and Arabia?
We don’t know yet.
