(1 October 2026) After so many years of watching for the coming of the Second Signpost, it has arrived, as written about here, and in Daniel Revisited.
We have been watching the Iran War since February 28, and the “official” beginning of the Second Signpost on September 11.
If you’ve been following this site for awhile, or read Daniel Revisited, you know there are two news threads to the Second Signpost.
One is the escalating war itself, involving whether the US attacks Iran again or withdraws, and attacks by Iran on US positions.
The second is the losing of the world’s peace of mind, with the specter of oil and fuel shortages severely impacting our ability to provide for our families. This involves the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and Iranian (or other Shia militant) attacks on Arab oil infrastructure.
War News
While the US is sending a third aircraft carrier to the region, the IRGC is taking a stand.
This article reports that the USS Theodore Roosevelt is going to join the Bush and Washington carriers, by the end of October.
This video by Dan Davis at time 27:18, reports that the IRGC made a statement yesterday that the only way for the war to end is for the US to admit defeat and leave the region.
Conclusion
The US claims its winning. Iran claims its winning. The evidence seems to favor the latter.
Whether the US attacks Iran again, or imply leaves as the IRGC suggests, either way the Second Signpost will happen.
It just might be a lot less damaging to the US if it were to simply leave.
