Iran’s Strike on Israel Over—For the Moment

The Second Signpost is not yet.

The full onslaught of Iran’s missiles and drones tearing into Saudi and Gulf oil facilities, with the IRGC and Basij troops spreading out across the Muslim nations of the Middle East, to occupy, to change the Sunni Muslim culture, and to butcher, is not yet.

For now, Iran’s missile and drone attack on Israel is over. Though scary looking, with hundreds of streaking lights met by Israel’s own streaking lights up in the night sky over millions of Israelis, it’s over.

What did the attack mean?

Apparently, as I wrote in my last post just yesterday, “The motivation behind the attack could simply be avenging the deaths of IRGC officers as a result of a recent Israeli attack on Syrian territory.”

That’s Iran’s official excuse.

However, there are at least two motivations behind the attack. First is as this report says: the Iranian regime wanted to shows its “citizens allies” that all those militias are led by an Iranian military that does as it says, i.e. avenges the death of the IRGC officers killed earlier in April, when it was threatening to do so. The regime had to, to save face.

And second, it is to test Israel’s resolve, her defenses, all while testing Iran’s weapons and strategy for the Psalm 83 war. For example, with 99% of all the missiles and drones intercepted, Iran would have to step up any future attack by 100 times or more to overwhelm Israel’s defenses.

Over the last several years, Iran has tested its weapons and strategies for the Second Signpost. It tested its strategies on a Saudi oil facility. It’s allowing the Houthis to continue to attack shipping through the Red Sea. Its run innumerable army games with its troops.

Iran has tested its abilities and strategies as written about here, here, and here.

As Iran has done for years, it is testing its weapons, strategies and capabilities, and will likely use them all when the Second Signpost really strikes. So, yet again, the Second Signpost is not yet. The Second Signpost will look like the Iran-Iraq War of the 1980s, the killing fields of ISIS, and all the attacks Iran has done over the years, all rolled up in to one shock-and-awe event.

The Second Signpost could be later, at least months from now, or could be sooner if Israel chooses to attack Iranian soil and so escalate the situation.

Stay watchful, just as our Lord said. Remember, the prophetic Scripture given us is about signs, not times.

Test your hearts and pull down the idols.

  1. Some commentary I came across today was comparing and contrasting the reaction of Saudi Arabia and Turkey, with the propositions that SA is not pleased with the Iranians running amok like this, but noting Turkey has come out as the loser of status in the Islamic Realm in that they did nothing to help the Gazans or hurt Israel whereas Iran has gained much street cred with this attack.

  2. it would seem that irans attack was successful on what it wanted to accomplish, no deaths but they showed Israel their ability to attack and have a measure of success. Israel may now have a hard time wanting to strike in the future, Iran seems to have found the secret of using decoy drones and letting the hypersonic or ballistic missiles pierce the Israeli defenses. Buckle your seatbelts.

  3. Mark, I really believe that Iranian terror cells in America are invoking these demonstrations and doing everything to keep them going. Why reveal your terror cells when you can hide behind these demonstrations and keep the mass students manipulated by the schemes? I think we saw this played out in the summer of 2020 as well. They need a threat here in the states to keep US out of the Middle East.
