Russia Reminds the West of Its Red Line Again

(5 October 2026) After so many years of watching for the coming of the Second Signpost, it has arrived, as written about here and in Daniel Revisited.

We have been watching the Iran War since February 28, and the “official” beginning of the Second Signpost on September 11.

The escalation to the full Second Signpost with the Arab oil facilities destroyed and the IRGC’s invasion of the Middle East underway could occur at any time.

Russia-Ukraine War as a Trigger

Newspaper headlines seem to be making people lose their minds over Putin’s “destroy all life” statement.

Russia has stated several times, and in different ways, what is important to Russia and what is its redline, i.e. its trigger, for the use of nuclear weapons.

I wrote about that briefly here. Interestingly, one of the two triggers I mention for the Second signpost could be an attack by Trump.)

What is important to Russia, is simply, Russia.

Unlike Eastern Earth with China and India whose cultural idolatries are some non-Christian religion, Russia is Christian.

Unlike Central Earth, like Europe and the Muslim Realm that were Christian and then fell away, Russia is still Christian.

And unlike the Americas, Russia’s cultural idol is not money.

Russia’s idol is to be Russia. Since AD 1000 when Russia became Christian, and since the thirteenth century when Russia struggled to keep all Russians in Russia, Russia’s goal is to have all Russians live in their country which is Russia.

This has been evident in history, and has driven what Putin has said in the last few years with the Ukraine War raging.

So at one point a few years ago, he said what is the point of the world continuing if there is no Russia? There must always be a Russia as long as there are people.

So it shouldn’t surprise us to hear Putin’s statement which seems outrageous and dangerous to us westerners. When the West was talking about taking away Kaliningrad from Russia proper, Putin threatened the use of nuclear weapons.

And so Putin said again at a speech a couple days ago that they would destroy all life. The video at this link has him saying this at about time 00:14.

Now, why should this be shocking? Kaliningrad has almost one million Russians in it. Russia’s idol is Russia, and that the Russian religion (Orthodoxy), the Russian language, and the Russian culture with the Russian people is to be preserved. So to propose separating those one million Russians from the rest of Russia is unheard of to Russia.

This is why Russia conquered and occupied the four eastern oblasts of Ukraine.

So here Putin says again they will use nukes on the West to keep Russia preserved.

It could mean the end of all life on earth, but again, if life goes on there must be a Russia.

Conclusion

The West, particularly the UK and Ukraine, continue to poke the Russian bear. If Russia responds with a nuclear WW3, that would likely require US forces to pull out of the Middle East to support other theaters of war. This would then allow Iran to conduct the Second Signpost.

Putin’s statement called out in headlines as “destroy all life” must be understood in context. Putin isn’t threatening anybody. He is simply saying that if one tries to separate Russian into two or more countries, the response will be nuclear.

And frankly, why can’t all Russians live in Russia, just as all French get to live in France or all Americans get to live in the United States?

There has been a hatred of the eastern half of Christianity by the western half going on for more than one thousand years that has ended up as consequences resulting in Napoleon, Hitler, and the Iron Curtain.

So we have two possible triggers for the Second Signpost just as I wrote about back in April 2025. Looks like the Trump trigger is about to be pulled in the month ahead but one never knows about the other one.
